Was not plugged into power strip, Thunderstorm ended that was on. There was also a DELL VOSTRO plugged into the powerstrip. The strip was off, I reconnected the computer, and it died. HELP
Hi there. Remove the battery and try it on AC power only, if it boots up turn it back off and put the battery back in again and power it up again, if it boots up, the cause will have a small surge from the power strip caused by the thunder storm.

The DC pin on your laptop is bent/broken/loose. Look at where your power adapter plugs in on your laptop. Get a paper clip, bend it out to make a long paper clip and slightly push its tip on the pin inside your laptop. If the pin moves chances are either the DC pin needs to be soldered down or needs to be replaced. The part is usually cheap around $10 but the labor can cost more than $50.

Hi there. Reset the surge protector if you have one, or unplug it and leave it unplugged for a couple of hours, then try again. Post back with the results please
if there a battery, try to remove the battery and put the charger..try to check if the power come or not come.
second, if not come the power without battery..you must check first the charger output, working or not working..and third, check the power jack...thats the last...
Sounds like the power supply might have died, probably before the battery did. Once the battery had run down, the computer simply died. Easiest way to check this would be to take it to a computer shop - they shouldn't charge you very much just to check the power supply - or try to locate another supply just like it and see if the computer will boot from the new power supply.
