Hi, i have 2 ipod shuffles(silver) , i have formatted & loaded a fresh copy of XP & itunes onto my hard drive & when i plug either of my ipods into the pc itunes recognises them but wont open them unless it re-syncs them & deletes the music on them, which of course is not what i want as i don't want to loose these music files, how can i re-sync both of my ipods to itunes without loosing my files.
I Appreciate any help you can give to resolving this dilemma for me.

Symptom
When opening iTunes for Windows you may see the following error message:
"iTunes might be unable to launch or communicate with iPod or iPhone. For help repairing your operating system, click More Information."
Products affected
Solution
This symptom may be caused by an issue with the digital signing of Windows XP drivers. First, update to the latest version of iTunes. You can download the updater here or in iTunes, choose Help > Check for Updates.
If the issue continues with the latest version of iTunes, try following the steps below to reregister several .dll files, which may resolve this issue.
Additional Information
Because some malware may unregister the .dll files, make sure you have the most recent updates to your anti-virus software and then do a full scan of your files.
regsvr32 /s wintrust.dll
regsvr32 /s dssenh.dll
regsvr32 /s rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 /s gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 /s sccbase.dll
regsvr32 /s slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 /s mssip32.dll
regsvr32 /s cryptdlg.dll
regsvr32 /s initpki.dll

There are many, many possible reasons it could not be playing - the problem with the Shuffle is that you can't see what you're doing on the player itself.
The songs that you are loading could be in the wrong format. I would make sure that they don't have a license that disallows transfer rights, and make sure you are not loading streaming songs.
SOURCE: itunes library wont all sync onto ipod
first the easy part....1800 songs we will not move this one at a time..............plug ipod to pc..open itunes....see on left hand side of screen...pc (music, photo & video folders) and under that ipod (music, photo, video folders)..ok..click on pc (music folder) all your music shows up right ok..this time click & drag the pc (music) down to the ipod music folder and release....its 1800 songs so lets wait til the ipod is finish (look at the ipod file a circular motion is happening,,,,its loading).......once finish always eject your ipod...............now find where you are storing mp3 / mp4 on your pc...once you find it ..go to top bar view then click,on view details (artist, album, type, lenght) this where it will say mp3/4/wma/wav or flac file
SOURCE: i can not play the music i copied onto my ipod
You need to download songs in mp3 format as any music you take from a cd will have copyright in the tracks and will not play on your ipod.
