I sent my canon a85 for repair to my local camera repair shop. The problem was the ccd.the camera shop was unable to repair and sent it to canon .canon said repair shop had made a mess when putting camera...

Hi,
It is a pity you did not visit the Canon Website for the FREE WORLD WIDE Recall you could have benefitted like I did also if the product is out of warranty. I bought mine in 2003 in Berkshire (RG12) and got repaired by Canon for FREE in Italy.
Read the link below for the instructions.
Today is not wort repairing the camera and if Canon were not able to do it blaming the shop I would ask the shop to replace a camera at least for half the price it is worth a new substitute. In the UK you have great offers from Jessops.

When I use the camera to take a picture, the display screen has lines that appear and "jump" around the screen. What is causing this, and how can I fix it? Thanks!

If it is Canon A80 camera then it got ccd imager failure problem and ccd imager chip will be replaced.
Canon offers free of cost repair for few models, A80 included, for ccd imager chip problem.
Click Canon CCD Imager Advisory for details for USA, if you live in another country, please check with local Canon service center.
Thanks.
