No game stated, if 100,000 games, wow.
sounds (no pun) like the game hates your sound card or chip.
if true then upgrade your sound drivers from Dell.
do not get driver from non DELL sources.
or use Microsofts plug and play do this. XP is dead and will fail.
but to use PnP be web connected, and not stated by you if you are.
local game or web game, unstated.
all important facts , and evidence unstated.

ether that's your game engine drive software or software for your game sound drive package. it's asking to install? to use that software? it's using that software? you can go to options check selection if it an option select it if available to use it may even have some of it's own options loaded in the game options.
