SOURCE: Fork oil level: 2006 KDX 200

This all depends on what size forks you have, but a good rule of thumb is 120ml. After that then what you want to do is to ride the bike and make adjustments to your front end until your liking.

SOURCE: i have replaced fork seals

Hi,
I am assuming the old oil is drained.
Once the tops are opened, lift the bike onto the center stand which will make the forks extend. Refill through the top of the fork with 12 oz of fork oil. The manual states that you must use oil with a weight of approximately SAE 3, and the amount going in needs to be equal in each fork.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: How much fork oil in a 2002 KTM 400 SX

White power allow a 110mm air gap with springs out and fork compressed as a general guide ,adjust from there according to prefrance . Thats probably, from memory about 600ml or so.If you overfill the leg ,cut the tip off the fork oil bottle , mark out on a clear piece of fuel hose 110 mm from one end of hose with a permanent marker, attach other end to the tip of the now empty fork oil bottle nipple, squeeze bottle, insert hose down to 110mm mark, take hand pressure off bottle and WWHHAAALLLAAA!!!!!!!!. Magically the excess oil is sucked back up into bottle.....Don't you just love the forces of nature. : ] ride on DB ......Hope this gets you out of trouble ....Flabbycat

SOURCE: front fork leaking oil from bottom of the seal.

Before you take it to the shop try this.Get some camera film,Cut the notched edge of it and trim the top to an angle of 45 deg..Slide this up into the fork seal and working it up and down, slide it all the way around the seal. When you get the feel of it,you can feel tiny bits of grit. This will clean the grit out 99% of the time.I always keep a piece of film in the toolbox.

Can someone tell me what type/brand of cassette 8 speed 11-32 teeth are compatible with the 2006 Mongoose TYAX Elite Pro

Shimano or SRAM brand. All 8 speed cassettes are made to the same standards, so that is the type. The only difference is the splines on the freehub. Also, any brand that is 'compatible with' Shimano or SRAM will work. Look at the locknut on the freehub that holds the cassette on, it should have the brand stamped in it.

Im contemplating buying from auction a mongoose elite tyax mtb. it has a fault with the rear sprocket. what would it cost to replace or repair?

Cassettes are replaceable as is everything except the frame. I'd guess if the gears are worn so is the chain. Parts only = $70-ish? Look on eBay. Don't buy those parts used.

When I change my break cables they keep snapping after a few weeks? Not sure if I am missing a washer on my breaks or if I am just tightening too much? any tips?

Someone with a knowledgeable eyeball on the problem needs to look at where they break and figure out why. Your life depends on it. We can't see what is happening.

I have a 1994 Honda 750 Magna and the front fork seals are beginning to look dry rotted so I ordered some new ones to replace them with. I can do some mechanic work here and there but never tried replacing...

its not an impossible job, but there are a couple of special tools that make it easier. and a couple of areas to stuff it all up.
A manual would be needed if you havent done it before. The manual takes 4-5 pages of explanation.
A good bike mechanic should do both seals in less than 1 hour, if you remove the forks.
If they arnt leaking oil, they may be OK, The seal that is visible and looks cracked may just be the dust seal, this just pushes into the top of the fork leg above the fork oil seal
