I just installed a ceiling fan with light assembly and a remote control unit to operate both. When the power is turned ON at the wall but the light is turned OFF with the remote control the lightbulbs flicker very lightly (CFl bulbs). However, if I turn the light off using the pull cord on the fan/light unit itself this doesn't happen. My questions are: can this issue be resolved (is it due to the CFl bulbs) without doing away with the remote control unit altogether? Is this dangerous?
I had this same problem with a Hampton Bay fan with a remote light switch. I call the manufacturer of the of the switch and was told that the model switch I had would not work correctly with CFL bulbs. The problem is with the dimmer function. You either need to change the bulbs to incandescent, or change the remote receiver in the ceiling. Hampton Bay was kind enough to send me a new receiver that works with CFL. The CFL units are white, and the incandescent is black. Hope this helps you.

I Have a Hampton Bay Fan Light from Home Depot and the new CFL light
bulb's that I put in will flicker when I turn them off with the remote
control. Although if I turn off the light switch after I turn them off
with the remote control, then they do not flicker.
