If you're Toro electric blower is slowing down, throwing sparks, or not starting you may need to replace the carbon brushes. Replacing brushes and cleaning commutator early can prevent damage to motor armature!
There are Electric Motor replacement carbon brushes on E-bay for all three motor sizes (7 AMP, 10.5 AMP, and 12 AMP) of Toro Leaf Blowers (Toro Rake and Vac Super and Ultra Blower Vacuums)
Search E-bay for: "Toro Blower Carbon Brush"
- 12 Amp leaf blowers Toro Super (Old model 51552) through Toro Ultra (New model 51609).
- 10.5 Amp leaf blowers Toro Old through Toro New model 51573.
- 7 Amp leaf blowers Toro model 51586 and other Toro 7 amp blowers.
Don't add an extention cord to an extention cord! Buy a 100' 14/4 extension cord and tie the end to the fence so it won't come un plugged. If the plug keeps popping out of the short cord at the blower, wrap the cord around the handle to prevent disconnection.
As you pull the cord do you feel a thud thud? if not you don't have compresion. However take the carb apart and clean it with carb cleaner it only takes one small peice of **** to cause trouble.Dennis
Some of these have a reset button in a tiny hole in the bottom rear of the unit. Try pressing the reset with a hair pin or a paper clip. then try turning it on again. Hope it works for you.
Check the plastic tab that should engage the red safety interlock switche near the inside of the hinge. Both the tube and impeller cover should have them tall enough so they push the red contacts up all the way.
