My GE WDSR2080D Top Load Washer will not agitate but it will fill, spin, and drain. I can hand turn the agitator assembly cone freely with my hand. I removed the cone and the agitator coupling and tried to hand turn the metal part that the agitator coupling attaches to but it will not turn by hand. How do I repair my machine. If I need a part, what is the part number?

Sounds you may have a lid switch problem.

Agitator's don't spin on wash cycle.
I would suggest washing the clothes without soap until they rinse clear. If you have hard water, the soap will not easily rinse out of clothes, or off of you when you use soap to wash or shower.
Reduce the amount of soap you use in each wash if this is the case. It sounds like your washing machine is working right.

Hello, your problem is going to be with the lids switch, in this machine it is going to be a magnetic contact. You can confirm this my pulling the front panel off and accessing the wireing to the lids switch, If you have electrical knowledge bypass the lid switch using a wire nut and run the machine. If all is ok make sure you relpace the lid switch since it is there for a reason. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!!!
