Yup, have the same problem - damn phone turns off when its sitting on my desk and, even more annoying, might turn off and restart 3 or 4 times during a short conversation. Took it back to the shop and, guess what - the shop is vacant. Phone is just a few weeks old and cost $750.

Same here. I've had the handset a week and its shut down on me around 3 times a day so far. Very annoying. I've contacted the retailer and they will send me out a new one.............. when they are back in stock! Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Check the battery connection, if the battery is loose/moves around when you touch it with your finger, try putting a piece of paper on top, or the side, or which ever way it moves. So the battery will still touch the battery contacts. If this isn't the case, try doing a hard reset. Go to start>settings>system>clear storage. (It's like this in my htc diamond, not sure about the touch HD, but should be same) which will erase all data/contacts. Make sure you sync your contacts to your pc to save them!

If your htc mobile keep restarting this means your battery is very low or completely drained.Recharge the battery and then start the mobile.
During recharge dont start the mobile let the battery be chared for 1 hr then if you want can start mobile. It worked for me it just the sign of battery low .

Pop email inbox shows one unopened mail even when empty

Hello is the problem with the pocket PCs,i had it in the past too:)
If you open again your inbox is gone.If is still there it means that you close the inbox while it was(sending or receiving a email) the program and the icon stack there so you must reset your device like this
1. Pull out the stylus.
2. Remove the back cover.
3. Use the stylus to press the RESET button located between the SIM card and storage card slots. Your device is now restarted :)

  • Press directly down on center dpad, marked 3.
You can also get tips & tricks from www.htcwiki.com
It has the latest and great updates, software, even known issues if you ever come across this. HTC does recommend that you do a master/hard reset once a quarter to keep it moving smoothly. Also, ensure you don't have a lot of open running programs. Perhaps once a day, clean the cashe and history. Do a soft reset (aka battery pull) once or twice a week. All depends on how hard you play with this lovely PDA device!

My mobile is dead

I just had this happen to me yesterday. I fought with my phone for about 3 hours removing the battery and trying to restart it. It would take about 5 minutes for it to finally boot and once it did the touch screen would not work. So I did a hard boot and within 5 minutes my phone was back to normal. I lost all my contacts but I just did a restore with the backup software. To do a hard boot hold down the red and green buttons on the front of the phone and push the reset button on the bottom of the phone with the stylus. The reset button is on the right side of the power/usb plug. As I said my phone was back to normal in just a few minutes.
