Panasonic Viera link and Foxtel IQ

My Panaosonic plasma TV and home theatre sound system use the Viera link which decided to dissappear withot trace three weeks ago. Panasonic say its not a warranty issue because connecting Foxtel IQ "corrupts the link"and "Foxtel know about this".Foxtel don't know and deny its possible. How can a system that worked for six months suddenly fault and is it a problem that others have found?

It is very likely that cross talk does corrupt the link but for Panasonic to "blame" anyone else is not very professional. Anyway, if it worked for 6 months perhaps disconnecting the Foxtel IQ and reestablishing the Viera link with the Panasonic devices then reconnecting the Foxtel IQ for another 6 months of happy viewing. This is not a permanent solution but the alternative doesn't seem to be an option.

This is a problem with your components. You can have the components replaced with a new set which may be expensive, or live to learn using av3 only with a switch system.

Cannot get the closed captioning to go away on my panasonic viera plasma.

Look for button marked STTL on the tv remote. Not the remote that came with the dvd or home theatre. The actual TV remote.

Try running the audio from each video source (NOT the TV, which is an output, not a source) to the HTR digitally so you'll get the best mutichannel sound possible. Then you can turn the TV speakers (assuming it has them) off for hi-end watching.

SET UP VIERA LINK PANASONIC PT960

Can you explain a bit more please. What exactly is the problem? Are you getting any picture or audio through to the TV? Are you getting any picture or audio through to the home theatre? Have you got the home theatre setup via HDMI? Have you connected the audio from the cable to the home theatre via optical or phono? What model is your LG LCD HDTV?
I already have the manual in front of me for your home theatre system. If you can give me some more information I can help you out.
Thanks.

Surround sound

You need a cable from your audio outlet to the home theatre receiver. Veira link is just for the picture. Only one way transmission. Optical cable or the 2 wires. Both options are available.

Home cinema/Viera link problem

Turn everything off and disconnect from mains.
Wait a few minutes.
Disconnect HDMI cable.
Turn on TV and DVD.
Connect cable.
If this does not work use a cable of different spec.
I had the same problem and now mine works .
Good luck.
