Some monitors you can configure, in options video, inside windows. and configure , contrast, or brighness too.
if you can go into menu in your particular monitor, then you can in advanve, change those settings. and save them.

You can configure the router at http://192.168.1.1/

For a secure network you must:

- change the default password ("admin") of the router configuration on the Administration tab.

- change the network name/SSID of the wireless network from "linksys" to something unique.

- enable wireless security WPA2 Personal if possible with a strong preshared key.

Only then all wireless transmissions are encrypted and only computers which know the preshared key are able to connect.

There is no benefit changing the name of the router, usually, but you can do that, too, on the web configuration pages.

Make sure to press save settings before changing to a different tab.

Details how to configure everything are in the manual which is on the CD and which you can download from the linksys web site as well.

This will definitely resolve the concern.

It's pretty easy! Just follow these steps:
1. right click on the SCANNER icon in ALL PROGRAMS
2. select PROPERTIES
3. click on PROPERTIES and you will see the input field called SHORTCUT KEY
4. hold down the TAB and ENTER keys you want to assign
5. click on OK button
It's done! Now you can start the scanning operation just by pressing the same time TAB and ENTER keys.

Set Up a D-Link Wireless Router

1 Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the DSL modem.

2 Then plug the other end into the "WAN" port on the back of the D-Link wireless router.

3 Connect wired computers to any of the other Ethernet ports on the router using another Ethernet cable.

Access the D-Link Configuration Screen

1 Open your web interface and type "http://192.168.0.1" into the address bar, then hit "Enter" or "Return."

2 Use "Admin" as the username and leave the password blank when the login screen appears.

3 Click "OK." You should now see the D-Link configuration screen.

Set Up General Security

1 Change your administrative password by clicking on the "Tools" tab and choosing the "Admin" button. Enter a new password under the "Administrator" heading. Confirm it, and click "Apply."

2 Disable the wireless Local Area Network (LAN) if you don't need to use the wireless access and you want to make sure no one else is able to access your network.

3 Under the "Home" tab, choose "Wireless" and select the "Off" option.

Enable Wireless Encryption Protocol (WEP)

1 Locate the "Home" tab in the D-Link Configuration screen, and click on the "Wireless" button.

2 Use the "Open System" button beside "Authentication."

3 Select the "Enabled" button next to "WEP," and set the encryption key to "128 bit."

4 Set the "Key Type" to "ASCII" and choose a 13-digit password for the "Key 1" field.

5 Write down the password in a secure location.

6 Click "Apply."

Change the SSID

1 Change the SSID to make it more difficult for others to locate and use your network by clicking on the "Home" tab and locating the "Wireless" button.

2 Change the default SSID to one of your choosing, then click "Apply."

3 Disable SSID broadcasting. Under the "Advanced" tab, click on "Performance" and check off the "Disabled" box. Again, click "Apply."

Filter MAC Addresses

1 Click the "Advanced" tab in the D-Link "Configuration" screen and select the "Filters" button.

2 Choose the "MAC Filters" and click on "Only Allow Computers with MAC Address Listed Below to Connect to the Network."

Enter the name and MAC address of the computers allowed to access the network, beginning with the one you are currently configuring. Click "Apply."

Go to Control panel then Date, Time, Language and regional options then Regional and Language options.

Please choose the appropriate entries for your country on the dropdown menu.

Your settings might be configured to English Keyboard and not to US.

For Standards and Format - Regional options tab
For Location - Regional options tab
For Languages tab > Details Button > settings tab > Default input language
For Advanced tab top drop down.

After changing the dropdown inputs please click the apply button and then restart the machine.

Open up a browswer and type in the url address the following:

http://192.168.1.1

If you have not arlready configured your router then use the default password "admin". Leave the username blank. If you have configured the password then use your current password. You can then click the Wireless tab, then click on the Wireless Security sub tab. You can then get your key that you need to place on your new netbook.

I was trying to figure out how to scan multi-page documents to a single file and found this on the Brother website:

Double-click on the ControlCenter3 icon located in the Task Tray to launch the program window.

Click on CONFIGURATION -> SCAN.

Choose the type of scan you require. The choices are: IMAGE,
E-MAIL, and FILE.

The Scan to configuration window will appear.

The SOFTWARE BUTTON tab configures the Scan to button within theControlCenter3 software interface. The DEVICE BUTTON tab configures the Scan to key on the Brother machine. Choose the tab you want to configure.

Under FILE TYPE select an option that allows multi-page documents:

a) PDF (*.PDF)
b) Tiff Multi-Page # Uncompressed (*.tif)
c) Tiff Multi-Page # Compressed (*.tif)

Click OK.

Make sure the same SSID and network key is configured on your PS3's wireless settings. To get the SSID and network key do the following steps.

1. Open your Internet Explorer and type http://192.168.1.1 on the Address Bar
2. It will prompt you for username and password. Type admin on the password, leave it blank for username. If admin password doesn't work, type your own password.
3. When you get to the Setup page of the router, go to Wireless tab. Take not of the SSID or the Wireless Network Name.
4. Now click the sub-tab Wireless Security that's under the Wireless tab. Take note of the Security Mode. If it is WPA-Personal, take note of the Shared Key or Passphrase. If the Security Mode is WEP, take note of the WEP key # 1.

5. Now all you need to do is access the Wireless Settings of your PS3 and configure manually the SSID and the Security Key. Then reboot the router and PS3. That should do it.

what is your router? do you know the gateway of your router?

1. Know what is your gateway by using a pc that is online hardwire to your router
> On that pc- check your gateway by doing ipconfig- your DG is your gateway
2. Then access the configuration page of your router- ex. 192.168.1.1
> Use your browser and type your gateway there.
> It will ask for username and password. You should know that.
3. When your inside your router's configuration page-look for wireless tab, then look for wireless security- you should be able to see there your wep key.
4. Finally type in that wep key on your toshiba laptop. It might ask you to confirm, so type it twice. =)
