My screen has cracked on my Sony Ericsson W890i phone.

My screen has cracked on my SE W890i phone and all my messages and contacts are saved to the phone. Does anybody know how I can copy all my contacts and messages to the sim card. The main problem here is I cant use the screen so I really need the sequence of what to do from the 'menu' button so I can just press the right keys for this to work, this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

COPY CONTACTS TO SIM CARD SEQUENCE W890i

press contact button (the one above and to the left off the red call end button) x1.

Press options button (the one above and to the right of the green call button) x1

Press menu up arrow x1

Press select button (silver button in centre of joystick) x1

Press menu up arrow x1

Press select button x1

Press menu up arrow x4

Press select button x1

this will copy your contacts to your sim card.

Check that the internet settings that were sent are actually ticked in internet settings. I had exactly same problem, and turned out i just had to select and save correct setting.

My sony ericsson has no sound when ringing
If your player is working, and you already setup menu/settings/sounds&alerts/ring volume 5-8, and silent off you should use your warranty for that phone. That is the problem with most se w890i.

The problem should be with the settings so kindly check them. if you have tried sending the settings from the HelpCentre, did you type your number in international format? If not, give it a go, it is loads more reliable that way. Here's the link to the OTA settings for the SE w890i.

Have SE w890i, phone wont play incoming ringtones or message tones but plays music through walkman. someone mentioned it was software error so reinstalled software still not workin any ideas?
That is general problem with that model of phone. If you have a warranty use it, but i don't think that they will accept because you did re-instalation of software and welcome to the club of a people who also have a same problem. Sorry for that. Many people have a same problem but SE company doesn't say anything about that yet.

the problem is the phones software is corrupt, either read this tutorial http://forums.se-nse.net/topic/39748-tutorial-flashing-a2-phones-with-a2uploader/

or use sony ericsson update service but i would recommend doing it yourself with a2 uploader as these can be unlocked for free but if you use SE update service it may make the software too new to unlock for free

I've cracked my SE w890i screen can i buy a new 1 ??
Honestly, unless you buy a broken phone same model...you cannot get a replacement screen.

Cell phones are mostly meant to be thrown away when something like cracking the screen occurs. With the exception of Iphones, Palm's (really expensive phones) which you can then have it replaced.

W890i just keeps crashing and going into standby mose with red light on
I had the exact same problem. Solution is to update phone via sony ericsson support site. Ensure you have backed up your phone first as alll numbers and ms will be lost. I have had no problems since the update 10 days ago

Go to "Settings" (Open Menu, press #)
It should present you with a menu of general configurations. Look for "New events" (or similar. Should be the 6th menu item in there)
It allows you to choose if new events (like messages, missed calls etc) will pop-up, or nicely place themself in a list :)
