This receiver is likely to be overheating or has a shorted speaker wire. If the unit is very warm when it shuts down then it is in need of some additional ventilation. Onkyo's tend to run hot so this is critical for proper operation. A speaker wire problem could also cause an issue when the unit detecs a no load situation.

Onkyo txsr313 receiver working mode but stuck, cannot working switches and remote?

Hold the "VCR/DVD" button while pressing the "On/Standby" button, and the receiver should enter "Standby." Turn it on again by pressing the "On/Standby" button. Bear in mind that this will clear all the presets and other settings - but it may be those settings that are causing the problems.

Media receiver "on" button flashes 8 times and turns the Pioneer TV to standby.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

ONKYO TX-SR307. Problem with volume/sound getting lower. "Setup" does not alter / resolve the issue. Please help

Hi, if this has not been resolved please try the following reset:

To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings, Thanks, JT

Sony receiver STR-AV460 stuck in standby mode and don't have remote to change it. Not sure how in got switched to standby mode, but need to get it out of this mode.

Try to unplug the AC cable from the wall for a while. However this may erase some recent programming, despite Sony AV receivers have memory enough to keep programs. Hope this may help.

Onkyo TX-SR605 - Suddenly switches itself off and back on

HI, this is a reset procedure that this unit is trying to initiate. there has been a surge of some sort that the system has survived but, there is some lasting damage as well that has resulted in a slight programming error within the mother board.

This unit has a program that was installed at the manufacture. it runs the basic operations. there has been some major damage that is causing the internal program to stall and reset itself. the only way to reprogram is to send it back to the manufacture or, you can locate a local repair depot through Onkyo. the Onkyo techs are the only option when re programing is needed.
