SOURCE: Electrolux model LX vacuum- Problem, ejects empty

The vacuum is doing exactly what it is suppossed to do, on this model, the bag will eject when the suction is reduced due to the pores in the bag becoming clogged by dirt, dust, or fine powder. Try a NEW bag, and **** up less superfine dust such as baby powder or plaster dust that immediately clog the bag. Next, on later model LX's on the bottom of the canister near the bag door is a dial, setting the dial to a higher number will reduce the sensitivity of this automatic bag ejection operation and will allow the vacuum to continue to run until the bag is even more clogged, however, running the vacuum with a fully clogged bag causes the motor to overheat and reduces suction and damages the vacuum. If you have an early model LX, there may have been a "basement and attic" key mounted to the bottom, but often are lost by now and it is used to make such an adjustment. The 1952 model LX was the first with the diaphram automatic bag ejection system and the problem of the bag ejecting too soon was common. An improvement on the model LXI added the control dial with numbers 1 to 6 on it to adjust the sensitivity. I am looking up more info on adjusting a model without the dial because I just picked one up at an estate sale a few days ago and I've heard (some time ago) that the early ones with no dial had a "basement and attic" key that snapped to the bottom of the cleaner to make this adjustment, not sure where it is though and the one I have does not seem to have the key. Will let you know more if I find it! Thanks, I am an Electrolux fan and will use nothing else because I have used so many vacuums but love the convenience of Electrolux design and durability. They have been in my family since my grandparents came to America and are simply the best in my opinion.

SOURCE: Electrolux 2100 vac dies when you attach hose even with new bag.

If the bag full light keeps coming on, you can first try adjusting the dial on top of the vacuum cleaner. If that does not work, then you need to change the control valve. This is an internal component of the canister and is directly below the dial. You will need to follow the instructions on a previous post to open the Electrolux plastic canister vacuum, and remove the bage cage. Once you remove the bage cage you can change the control valve, and this will solve your problem with the bag full indicator.

My electrolux versatility vacuum doesn't have much suction

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

If you are experience less or no suction of you vacuum, most of the time there is a blockage that clogs up your unit resulting to this. Turn off your vacuum first and unplug the machine from the power before doing any troubleshooting with your vacuum. Remove the attachment hose and check inside the hose and the openings where the hose attaches for any blockages. You may refer to your manual below for troubleshooting solutions:

I put a new bag in my electrolux 2100 and it seems like it has half of the suction. What seems to be the problem. Does it need a new upper motor gasket?

Take the hose off, turn the vacuum on and see if there is good suction at the vacuum where you attach the hose. If there is good suction at the vacuum there is either a clog in the hose or if it is an old hose the liner inside the hose may be collapsing when you turn the vacuum on. If that is the case you will need to purchase a new hose. I have hoses for sale on my website and on ebay.

No suction from canister on electrolux guardian model c154e. green light on switch is on

Have you remove the hose and checked the suction at the intake of the vacuum? If the motor is running there will be suction.
If there's suction here, attach the hose to the vacuum, turn it on, and check the end of the hose for suction. If there is none or very little, there's a clog or bad leak in the hose. The easiest way to check for a clog is to drop a coin in one end, lift that end up allowing the coin to drop through to the other end and out. If it drops through, the hose is clear. If not, the easiest way to clear it is to plug the hose in to the exhaust port of the vacuum, place the other end into a large garbage bag or point it outside, and turn on the vacuum. This will usually clear a blockage.
Leaks that are severe enough to result in no suction will be readily apparent as tears, cracks, or cuts in the hose. A crushed hose will also result in the loss of suction.
If suction is fine at the end of the hose, do a visual check of the wands. It's unusual for them to be blocked, but not impossible.
Check the power nozzle above and behind the brush and where it attaches to the wand. The elbow can catch long objects resulting in a blockage.
If there don't appear to be any problems with the above mentioned items, you need to take the vacuum, with attachments, to a repair shop to have it checked. It may need a new motor, but that would be due to worn out or broken fans, and that is unlikely with Electrolux vacuum motors years older than that.
