Try turning your key on and flip the valet switch, your alarm is most likely in valet mode (youll know cause the led stays on) if that doesnt work, turn the key on and off then toggle thye valet switch 3x and that'll turn off silent mode. Good luck, Martin @ lessco electronics

As soon as I connect car battery my alarm goes off. ... I obviously don't have a remote, and it doesn't have a valet switch.
That second chirp is a status alert letting you know a zone was not able arm yet. Most common reason is that the dome light its not out yet. It arms itself as soon as the trigger goes to sleep.
Open door, turn ignition on then off. Press aand hold programming button until you hear one chirp. After you hear the chirp, release programming button, press and release button one then press and hold. You will hear one chirp. While holding the programming button, press lock button on remote to change option. One chirp is active arming(what you currently have), Two chirps is passive arming without locks, Three chirps is passive arming with locks. Turn ignition on to exit programming. Test system.
Your alarm is is in valet. to take the alarm out of valet with the remote: open any door. Press lock, unlock, lock. The LED should be off now. Close the door and lock the doors with remote. The alarm should chirp to confirm that it is armed.
OR
Turn the key on then off. Within ten seconds press and release the valet switch. The LED should be off now. Close the door and lock the vehicle with the remote. The alarm should chirp to confirm that it is armed.
what is happening is your dome light stays on for 30 seconds after locking your doors and the alarm is sensing that a door is still opened and is giving you a warning chirp that a zone is still opened. Some alarms will have a bypass in the menu setup that will bypass the open zone for 2 min after arming. check your owners or installation manual if it is indeed the case.
