The vacuum started to lose power when i took the hose off to change the bag. it would start then stop i would wiggle the hose and it would run. now there is no power at all. maybe somthing in the hose connection.
THE BEST SOLUTION IS TO NEVER BUY A SEARS VACUUM AGAIN. THEY DO NOT LAST AND WARRANTY AND REPAIRS ARE TOO EXSPENSIVE! I BOUGHT THREE OVER TEH YEARS, AND NOW AS YOU KNOW, THREE STRIKES AND SEARS IS OUT!!!!!

Your filter may be stopped up and not allowing vacuum.
Your discharge may be blocked. In order to have vacuum you have to have a way to discharge the air.
Possibly your motor is weak
I found this info
Why is my vacuum losing suction?
A motor generates power which powers a vacuum which, in turn, creates suction to lift debris. The most common areas of suction loss are within the hose itself, the vacuum bag, clogged rollers, broken vacuum belt or a faulty gasket. All of these problems will lead directly to the vacuum cleaner losing suction.
There are a lot of things that could cause this problem because the wire runs through the hose. There is a connection on both ends you should check to make sure they are clean.
With the machine running try to "wiggle" the hose connections to see if the head gets power intermittently
It could be the wires or switch in the hose and/or the connection between the hose and the vacuum. It could be the power cord or a loose or bad wire inside the canister. It could be the carbon brushes in the motor are worn out. To find a short or electrical problem you need to know how to trace the power flow from the plug and cord all the way to the motor. You can test the wiring in the hose with an electrical tester to see if there is a problem with it before you purchase a new one.
Start by checking to insure you're getting proper voltage through the cord. Make sure the bag emptor and front brush roll nozzle are installed properly as each must activate the switch for it to run. It could have a defective switch.
Kenmore vacs generally have three male contacts at the machine end.Internally when the hoses swivels these contacts run on three brass rings which can also get dirty due to proximity to dirt. They can get dirty or dirt can fall into the corresponding female socket where the hose meets the vac. If you have just changed the bag inspect these connections near the intake port on the vac. The working LED means you have a partial connection. Also try wiggling and twisting gently at the handle of the hose and where the wand connects to the hose and the power head elbow... you have 4 connections between vac and head
Either there is something wrong with your switch. Which it doesnt sound like it. Take it to your dealer or call another one it sounds like the control valve needs to be replaced. I am a dealer 1-866-966-9350.
Sounds like there is definately something stuck inside it. You;ll need to dismantle the floor head carefully using a screwdriver. Make sure your machine is switched off though if it is a power head and not an air turbine turbo head. Once inside check the main roller brush as well as the side caps as these can become clogged. Also check the main dirt channel leading to the pipes of the vacuum.
