I agree with your thinking Claire.
Only I would contact Lenovo.
I don't see any Service Bulletins out yet. On the internet or Lenovo Support. Of course it is pretty new though.

The 'low temperature'.
It needs to be within the usual normal operating temperature -> Kapish? (Lenovo)
What is considered good for a human being. I believe 65 degrees Fahrenheit is the low. (18.3 Celsuis)

You are having a problem with intermittent component failure. The problem might be a bad capacitor. you need to check the capacitors in the power supply and around the voltage regulators. You should also reapply the thermal paste to the cpu. You should also check the cpu socket for dust and dirt. Take the cpu out of the socket and make sure it has not become contaminated with dust or themal paste. When you use a notebook for hours at a time all the components will need to check and serviced, every few months. This will keep the notebook is good working order. Remember you are stress testing the components when using it for hours at a time. This is because the notebook due to size and build will have a lot more trouble than a desktop, with heat issues and dirt and dust.Keeping the notebook cool and clean wiil assure you of good perfprmance. If this type of servicing seems over your head you can call Lenovo at this telephone number.
