Screen is dull & laptop automatically goes into herbernate?

Last night i switched off my computer, just before i got a massage pop up of low disk space. This morning I switched it on.. the screen remains dark but ican just about see it switch onto the main screen and then it shows that it's going into hibernation and switches off. then i boot it up again and it then says it's going to sleep and then it switches down again. I then boot it up again and it does the same thing over again. How do I get in on so I can free up space?

Thanks, I could not see the screen to do anything, but eventually intutition kicked in and I started cleaning all my keys... I notice the little button that goes down when I close the laptop was stuck and so it just kept on shutting down by going into standby... I have now solved that and got it running and have freed up space, but thanks anyway...

My MacBook Pro goes to the grey screen with the

Most likely, you are looking at a corrupt installation of the OS, or a failing hard drive... most likely the latter, unfortunately. Laptop hard drives only seem to last a couple years now, 3-4 if you're really lucky. I would suggest popping in the System Restore Disc (that came with the computer originally) or the OS install disc (in case it has a new version installed than it came with originally) and go to Tools->Disk Utility, and tell it to "repair permissions" and "repair disk", and see if that resolves it. If it happens to, I suggest backing up your data ASAP just in case. More info can be found here on using Disk Utility.

Screen dull & automatically goes into hybernate

The dim screen is going to be either the lcd or inverter. As far as constantly going into hibernation mode. go into power options and make sure where it says turn off monitor and turn off hard drive are set to never. If that doesn't work then that mean you might have a virus, trojan, etc on the computer.
