I'm missing the release plate for my optex t-260 tripod

The opening for the release plate is 1 3/4" x 1 9/16". I'm wondering where I can find a replacement for it.

SOURCE: need a quick release plate for Dynex tripod 60

The Velbon QB-4W Quick-Release Camera Platform is a nearly identical replacement for the plates that come with the Dynex DX-TRP60 tripod. You should have had a spare in the bottom of the tripod bag when you bought the unit. The Velbon QB-4W is available at many on-line sources for about $5.95.

Good luck,

Swarf

they don't have that model listed, but they seem willing to try. Several people are thanked for finding out which plate fit which tripod.

How can i attach my canon 600D to a optex T-4151 tripod ?

Yes, your 600d has 1/4 threads at the bottom wich is ideal for tripod mounts, take the tripod head off the tripod, and line up the 1/4 tripod head and camera and screw in the tripod head into the camera (bottom), if any questions contact me thanks 4_15_2014_1_41_51_am.png

Missing a quick release plate for my Cullmann tripod 2921

Try www.TripodQuickRelease.com for that part. There is listed the widest selection of quick releases and support more brands than any other web site I've seen. Because your tripod is not supported by the manufacturer; parts lists and pars are not available, you should measure the opening and see what other brand quick releases will work paying attention to the shape and locking mechanism. Otherwise just get another tripod.

How to put a camera on it

If it's a quick release tripod you need to remove the quick release plate (Usually a release lever to the side of the top of the tripod) and then fasten the plate securely to the camera and then the plate to the tripod. Older non-quick-release tripods have a knurled screw located below the flat area where the camera is attached. If the screw is missing, get a relacement from your local hardware store - 1/4" -20. (Find a way to keep the new one from getting lost.)
