Regardless of what virus your SD card infected with, they should be killed first. Generally, you will get back your lost files when finish killing the virus. But if you unfortunately lost the card files, then you need a powerful and easy to use card file recovery tool. For more information, read here: http://www.card-data-recovery.net/ Best wishes!

1. Open run (windows+R)
2. Open command prompt (type : cmd)
3. On the open box type -> chkdsk (space) [the drive]: (space) /f
example (your sdcard is on drive K -> chkdsk k: /f
4. It will say that it's being repaired , after that
5. Copy all files inside DCIM folder to your PC

you will find many files with FILE00XXX.CHK format. If your images are all JPEG, you can just change the .CHK file type into .JPG

But if you have the RAW file, it will be hard, because you don't know which one is the JPG/RAW file.

So you need to download this : http://www.ericphelps.com/uncheck/unchk3.zip

and this

http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb50pro/utility/1/win98/EN-US/Msvbvm50.exe

It will automatically change the files into JPGs and you change another .CHK files that haven't changed by the program into your RAW file format (Olympus = .ORF , etc)

Example :
There are 4 .CHK files :
FILE0001.CHK
FILE0002.CHK
FILE0003.CHK
FILE0004.CHK

if the result =
FILE0001.CHK
FILE0001.JPG
FILE0002.CHK
FILE0003.CHK
FILE0003.JPG
FILE0004.CHK

then the file002 and file004 is RAW:smile:

Hope this helps and don't be afraid when you have this problem!

I've had this same issue a few months back and I was able to recover some of my files with this software SD Card Recovery Software Pro FREE Download. The thing is...once you've discovered that your sd card files got corrupted you should stop using that card. You don't want to overwrite the files and lose them forever.Connect the sd card to your pc and run the software.
In a few moments you'll know if your files are retrievable. All the best

Use a card recovery software to retrieve your videos back. Simply insert the Sd card to your computer. Download and run a recovery software on your system. Follow the recovery instructions and you will be able to retrieve your video files back. But before starting the software, remember two points.

1. During recovery, always keep the affected source drive and the recovered files destination drive separate.

2. Do not use further the Sd card after data deletion until the recovery process is complete.

I have used Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery Software which is a pretty good software for recovering videos or photos from all kinds of storage media.

Hi.

ASMI SD is not a type of file. It is the name of the card reader. Asmi is either the name of the card adapter (the slot) inside the camera, or the name of a card size adapter. Here a brochure showing ASMI adapters.

The card has lost formatting and the camera is either displaying the card reader name because the camera is unreadable, or the card is showing ASMI SD as a file name because its formatting is defective.

When that happens the files are often damaged or lost. The only attempt you can do to recover files is by connecting the card to a computer and then using a data recovery software.

Check also If the card is using an adapter. In that case you will have a smaller card inside an adapter that looks like a bigger card, as shown below. That adapter is ASMI as the slot inside the camera. If using an adapter extract the smaller card from inside and test using a computer.

ginko_133.jpg

With or without adapter pull out the card and read it using a computer. If the computer has no built in card reader, get an USB reader like this:Card reader .

First try reading the SD card without recovery software. If that does not work and files are still not displayed, install a recovery software and try recovering the files on the damaged card with the recovery software. Below a choice of files recovery software. Some of the software is free.

Good day sir/maam, hi, your SD card may be infected by a virus that wont allow anymore software or files to be stored on the disk, run a virus scan on your PC, there is an easy way to check if your PC is infected, to check, on the my computer menu bar click tools, folder options, view, select show hidden files and folder, then apply, close the window, Now go back to the folder option, view and check the show hidden files, its changed. and goes back to not show hidden files. If this happens, download AVG anti virus and scan your computer.

All the pictures i had have disappeared and my memory card says no images! when i tried to get them processed it just kept counting up images to over a thousand..

Hi. The most probable cause for this problem is a virus. Your memory card might be infected and the virus might have hidden your files. You can check this by scanning the memory card using an updated antivirus, then unhiding all hidden files. To do this (after scanning the memory card), open Windows Explorer, go to "Tools >> Folder Options >> View" On the advanced settings, Hidden Files and Folders option, click the "Show hidden files and folders" button. Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types". Click OK to save the settings.
Now go to your memory card via "My Computer" or Windows Explorer to view the files (images). You can unhide them so they may be accessible again.
Hope this helps.
