My iTouch is frozen on the apple logo, with a little loading circle frozen on top of that. there is a little broken line of different colors, very thin, about a centimeter from the top of the screen. I've...

Iv only seen that line with a jailbreak found at jailbreak me dot com... I'm not saying you jailbroke your phone but if it is that you might just be able to restore your iPod from your computer. Try it either way.

Apps dont work!!!

I think it is that you might have to restore your ipod to its original firmware and reinstall the apps. If this doesn't help, call apple and let them fix your itouch. Also these days, anyone that jailbreaks their itouch gets their itouch screwed because apple does not allow jailbreaking.

Blue lines

this condition is an apparent defect in the itouch screen. Your screen is getting ready to go out.
Apple knows about this and if you touch is still under warranty you caan probably get a new one.
restoring your ipod could help with the problem only if it is software related. there is no reflashing an ipod, you just restore it to factory settings in itunes.
If your ipod is jailbroken, this could also be the cause. some jailbreak programs cause damage to ipods and iphones. try jailbreaking it with quickpwn if you restore it and want to jailbreak it again

Itouch wont turn on after jailbreak

here is what to do.
you need to put the ipod in dfu mode and restore it to your prior version firmware.
to enter dfu mode plug the ipod onto the cord without pluging the usb into the computer.
Hold the Home button down for 5 second and press the Power button and hold for 10 sec, the apple logo may appear or not.
let go of the power button and keep the home button depressed for 27 second.
plug in the usb end of the cable to your computer and if it mounts restore. when you click the restore button, press shift at the same time on your keyboard, this will allow you to choose a file to restore your ipod to.
once you have you itouch restored, use quickpwn to jailbreak.

Does it matter what version of the ITouch I have if I Jailbreak it? I want to purchase the first generation Itouch MPN series: MA623LL/A but I know it's not the latest MPN series, but does it really...

1st gens are easier to jailbreak, as you only need a single program called quickpwn to do it. with 2nd gen, you need to download a .ispw file. good luck
hope this helps ;-)
