I have a Sunbeam digital meat probe thermometer used once. Now the display for thermo/temp comes up H instead of the temperature of the meat. What is wrong? Sunbeam digital meat probe thermometer has quit working after two uses. Need a replacement.

I have a similar problem. I've used mine 3 times and now the temperature reading is off by approx. 30 degrees. I can't find a reset button anywhere.

Any ideas on how to reset or who to contact? I got it as a gift so I don't even know where it was purchased.

I left mine in a hot tub for well over an hour. It started reading room temp at about 125 degrees. It worked for me to put the thermometer in the freezer until the readings were correct. hope this works for you.

Good substitute for "Sunbeam power unit lubricant"?

All question need full 'make model (what it is)' please.

The only thing we know it that is made by Sunbeam and it MAY be a food mixer because that is the category it is posted to.

Look at what is there already.

It is black and greasy, it will be GP Graphite Grease.
If it is white and greasy, you can use white Lithium grease in spray or tube.

If it looks like normal oil, use 3 in One.

This is a service manual for a vintage mixer, it say to use a special grease, but from the description high temperature bearing grease would work.

Nothing based on the the quoted words.

I have my grandmother's old sunbeam stand mixer, my father bought it for her when he was in the navy, that was a few years before I was born, and I am now 62. It works great for a short time, but if you...

Could be brushes, bearings, capacitor, or other.

It may just need a good cleaning. Regardless, labor costs become prohibitive.

Retire and display the unit in a conspicuous spot for your enjoyment.

New mixer did not come with manual

Hi MITCH, Happy New Year! Somebody at Sunbeam must have been asleep when the mixer passed by on the production line...duh? I hate when that happens. The good news is that you can download a PDF Users Manual from the Sunbeam website. Just click on this link Heritage Series 2353 Mixmaster and look for your M-I-L’s model to about ½-way down the page. Open the file and save it to your PC.
I’m not very keen with the way Sunbeam lays out their User’s Manuals. You’ll need to do some editing and repaginating to get it into a format that your M-I-L- can use, but at least you’ll have it. You can send it to her electronically or print just the English pages and mail; your choice.
Good Luck. I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA

Black Residue on meat using Kitchenaid meat grinder attachment

This is a common issue with the Kitchenaid food grinder. The black residue is a product of the meat itself.

With Kitchenaid Food Grinder Attachments, it is recommended that the meat be partially frozen before grinding. This is to ensure a quality grind and to make sure the meat holds all its juices while grinding.

If any juices from the meat are leaked into the food grinder, the friction will cause a chemical reaction and turn the juice from the meat into a black substance.

Sunbeam 2346

I just did it. Get your digital camera and take pictures along the way so you'll know how to reassemble it.
On the front of the mixer, there is a chrome Sunbeam sticker. Use a pocket knife, slide it under the sticker and pry/peal it off. Then you will see a single screw that goes into the guts of the mixer. Unscrew it and remove the front of the mixer. You'll then see two screws that keep the top of the mixer on. Remove those and you can undo the top housing.
You take off the back of the mixer in a similar manner. Use a screwdriver to pry off the chrome cap on the back, then remove the single screw and the speed control will come off.
The gear box just above the blades is a potential area for the growling. It is pewter colored metal held in place by four screws. Clean out the old grease and replace with new (NOT oil, grease, like axle grease or lithium grease).
Use a toothbrush to get the old dust and flour off the innards of the machine. I also used a can of compressed air to blow it out and sprayed the electrical contacts of the motor with WD40.
Mine works like a champ now. Took about an hour.

Bread hook use

Use it to the side. This will pull the dry ingredients off the bowl. If the dough is coming out lumpy, make sure you follow the recipe exactly. Putting dry into wet will give different results than putting wet into dry. If this doesn't end the lumps, try a different type of flour.

Sunbeam Stand Mixer

For whatever reason, Sunbeam must have decided to cut on costs and used a plastic gear to transfer power to the beater. I had my Sunbeam for two years and the plastic gear decided to break. End of mixer. You cannot find a replacement part anywhere. It is the last sunbeam I will buy.
