Vtech cordless static

The control is usually a sliding switch in the base station, not on the handset. Open the battery holder and look in there,

How to change channels on vtech DS6121 cordless phones?

The only way (aside from opening it up and making some modifications) is to disconnect power. Unplug the base, disconnect the handset battery, wait at least 15 seconds, then reconnect. The DS6121 only has 5 channels, and they are all within a very limited range: 1921.5 to 1928.5 Mhz, so it may or may not help with the static. (probably not)

Poor reception on cordless phone system vtech ia5878

Sometimes static can be caused by how far you are trying to use your phone from the base. It can also be caused by other electronic equipement close to your base.

Constant static and interference

VTech products are generally poorly designed and manufactured. You can probably notice the FCC Warnings on the device that say that you must accept all interference that you may recieve while in use. Go out, splurge a little, and find a telephone made by a well known company like Panasonic, Sony, etc.

Thank you for your reply. the problem is in the incoming telephone line and it turns out that other neighbors are having the same static problem. A man from the telephone company is in the neighborhood searching for the cause of the problem. Katsura

We have Vtech phones - Modes : i6785/6786 which we purchased last 4/30/07 and they are and have a lot of static - why. Can hardly hold a conversation.

try using a corded phone(borrow one if you don't have one) see if problem is on phone line. Cordless amplify static on a phone line. If static is not on the corded try relocating the base of cordless.

Constant static and interference

FIRST YOU MUST DETERMINE IF THERE IS STATIC ON YOUR PHONE LINE. EVEN WITH DSL THERE CAN BE STATIC EVEN IF THE INTERNET IS WORKING. IF YOU HAVE A CORDED PHONE TAKE IT OUT TO THE PHONE INTERFACE BOX AND OPEN THE BOX / THERE SHOULD BE A PLACE YOU CAN UNPLUG YOUR WIRING FROM THE PHONE COMPANY. PLUG YOUR PHONE INTO WHERE YOU UNPLUGGED THE WIRING AND SEE IF YOU HAVE STATIC THERE. IF YOU STILL HEAR STATIC IT IS THE PHONE COMPANY'S PROBLEM.

SOMETIMES UNPLUGGING FROM BOTH THE PHONE LINE AND THE POWER SOURCE AND REMOVING THE BATTERIES WILL CORRECT SOME PROBLEMS. FOR SECOND PHONES ON A SYSTEM THEY MUST BE REGISTERED TO THE BASE. ONCE IT IS REGISTERED IT SHOULD SHOW A NUMBER IN CORNER OF SCREEN (2)
THE MANUAL SHOULD TELL YOU HOW TO REGISTER SETS. IF YOU HAVE LOST YOUR MANUAL SEE IF YOU CAN DOWNLOAD ONE FROM THE WEB SITE OR CALL VTECH 1-800-595-9511

Vtech phones loosing connection to base

You are pretty close to the solution. The problem is the charge detection in the handset. All handsets on a cordless phone detect the battery level with an hexadecimal value in the memory. Each hex value equal a volt value of the battery. EX: 3.5v = 9B
3.6v = 9C 3.7v =9D etc... The problem is the hex value in your defective handset are all mess up. So 9B is not 3.5v anymore. Then your handset could last 1hr after foul charge or doesn't alert you before the phone goes dead due to low BAtt.
