When I try to record on tape it won't record it just says Eject The Cassette. Can somone tell me whats wrong with it and/or how to fix it? And also does this camcorder have night vision?
May be a stupid suggestion but check the slide lock on the cartridge to make sure it is in the record position.
'Night vision' is a term applied too loosely; it originally referred to the original 'starlight' scope that uses a special tube capable of actually amplifying light particles (photons).
More recently, the phrase has been applied to devices capable of 'seeing' into the infra-red spectrum.
Since too much IR sensitivity affects the quality of any digital camera, the sensors are normally designed to be less sensitive to that wavelength.
The fact that none of the specifications mentions the minimum usable light level is bothersome.
Most digital cameras (and camcorders) have 2-3 lux ratings which is not in the category of 'night vision' at all.
If you have already tried with another cassette and gotten the same results, then the sensor (which could be optical or mechanical) is malfunctioning.
About the only thing left you might do, is check the sensor's location in the deck to see if it has some obstruction causing the problem.
You should be able to find its location by looking in the area occupied by the slide window for a recessed LED/photodetector or a mechanical finger that is used for sensing.
I think it will be the former LED/photodetector.
Beyond that, it isn't likely that any user can fix the problem.
