Sony Digital TV screen colour problems

I purchased this TV in Asia about 8 years ago and the screen last night developed pink shades down both sides of the screen, giving some people green faces. Turned on this morning and the pink shades are still there. I thought it could be related to my digital cable signal or is this a sign that my tube is dying ? Tks

After my TV tipped over and landed on the face a oval rainbow is now showing at the right side of the screen.

My sony projection tv seems to be out of focus on all four side.

Have you tried lifting the ground on the TV? That set has a grounded (3-prong) plug and sometimes sccrolling lines can be caused by a ground loop in your power lines.Are the green and purple lines very short, like just a few rows of pixels tall, or multiple inches, like 3 - 8 tall?

Vertical colour lines on whole screen

The problem is that the panel has failed. Apparently this is a common problem with LCD TV's between 18 mths and 3 yrs old. If it survives over 3 yrs it is likely to last for a few years longer. The cost of replacing the panel is more than a replacement TV!

Full screen has lighter colors on 8 inches on both sides.

YOU WILL NEED ALL CRTS REPLACED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. NOT WORTH REPAIRING.

Sony DVD connected to HD system used to be regular colours, now it only shows shades of pink. .

dvd format must be compitable with tv-if it is compatible change your video cable with new good brand one from (radio shack)or any electronic store near you.

Red/pink shades in dark areas happens only 6ins down from top

Sounds like you have a cap that leaky or a ic thats getting hot,
if you want to try and fix it yourself get a can of freeze it

and when the problem appears spray the can on each (ic or cap) part till the problem goes away.
