I have a Dell Inspiron 4100 with a swappable cd/dvd floppy drive. I have never had a problem with this machine until just recently. If I put a cd in the tray of the cd/dvd it will work, but when I put in a dvd it shuts down my computer and I get a blue screen saying it shut down my computer to prevent damage. The only thing I've done differently was to increase the hard drive and the ram. I've tried downloading undated drivers and reinstalling the dvd but nothing seems to work. Any ideas. Thanks, Sam

I found this link while desparately looking for a fix that Dell could never resolve. You are awesome!
SOURCE: finding Dell keyboard driver
Well drivers for keyboard are automatically installed by windows..If the drivers are corrupted then I don't think so that other drivers will help you..
I will suggest you take the data back up and follow the instruction for recovery
SOURCE: computer crash
this is all happen to not properly shut down, if your read the problem from blue screen so we can identify it give you some instruction how to fix it. YOu know only one can repair this is a computer technician or expert.. but i think you don't have so maybe your the one going to do it, here's is a instruction: 1. Put a Bootable System Disk XP or Vista or etc. 2. Make a Bootable Disk run before the system comes up... 3. Follow the procedure which appear on the screen... then so on.
