Work my web cam on my asus monitor

If the laptop still has all the original software installed, check in All Programs for ASUS folders and utilities. Find and open Life Frame. If you can't find it try Skype. It will automatically find the cam and let you test it. Another way is to do a search on-line for 'vidcap.exe'. This is a freeware application that allows you to capture video clips but will also display the output from the cam.

Built in web cam? Does the web cam work with the software e.g. - Microsoft life cam? If does not work at all could be out, get an external USB web cam. Could be a driver, could be the site or site settings.

1. check if the camera driver is installed properly, you can see it in the device manager.
2. use amcap to check if your cam is working

Please repost with more information about the problem you are having. Driver for the web cam? Web cam does not work? Monitor does not work? Operating system you are using?

If its vista just press start and type in "camera assistant software"and press it.

I too got the vk26 monitor with the built in webcam. So I too had the problem with the software. I tried drivers, redownloading and uninstalling..etc,etc. But packaged with the monitor is a series of cables,one of which you HAVE to plug the into the back of the monitor and into your computer. I thought that the dvi cable would take care of everything,ehh,I thought wrong. Asus didn't mention that in the very small worded monitor guide. So in short,once you install the software,you must you the usb cable that came with the monitor,plug that in,and you're good to go. =)

I don't know what the deal is with gateway's performance monitor, but the low frame rate is normal for web cams (and digital cameras in general) in low light situations. I would recommend just getting a cheapy desk lamp and forget about the night mode if possible.

have you tried to get drivers from net for web cam that works with windows vista as most of the older webcams are'nt vista compatable you have to hunt the web for drivers look on cam for more info and search web with this info and go to the company who made this see if they have drivers for vista. good luck with this one
