I am having the same problem. My Emo got corrupted, and had to reformat it.  It lost all of the original information on the partition that you can access from the computer.  Reformatting doesn't erase the firmware, but nowhere can you search for an answer to put the necessary information back on the partition to let the files be recognized by the Emo.  If you did the same thing I did, then the only thing I can suggest is going to www.trekstor.de/en/ and going the the support section.  You can tell them the problem you are having and have them try to help you out (I'm going to do the same soon) so you can get the files to be recognized.  You are not alone, as I have seen many other people with the same problem.  The manual says to format the Emo in Fat32 format, but noone should have to do that nor should even try to, unless it has become corrupt like mine did.  The manual should warn that formatting should only be done if the system has become corrupt and unrecognizable to your computer, not at the beginning of the manual making you think that you have to do this to be able to use it.  I have more of a problem because the firmware version on the Emo is more up to date than that of what you can find at the Trekstor website, which doesn't make sense.  I wanted to update the firmware to see if would set the Emo to factory settings, but don't want to go to an older firmware.  Anyways, hope this helps, and good luck!

I updated the firmware with the older one, and the player works like new.

How do i transfer music files onto a sandisc to use in my car

This can depend on the 'head' of the stereo equipment. Chances are if the head has a usb input then it can run the music files in mp3 format. A quick check on the manufacturer's website will give you more information.

-Assuming it can run mp3, use a file browser to locate the music files on your computer
-Plug in and verify the computer recognizes the usb device "sandisc" (it will pop up with a name like F: drive, unless previously assigned a nickname)
-Copy and paste the files by highlighting them, right click and select copy from the context menu
-Open the usb device and right click, select paste to copy the files over to the usb
-Once the computer is finished, you can right click the usb device and select 'safely remove' or 'eject'
-Plug that puppy into your car and enjoy!

Cant load music from computer onto merlin mp3

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files

TrekStor emo won't show or play mp3 or WMA files.

I had the same problem. The solution for me was that the files on my computer hard drive were set to play on the realplayer format. Once I changed the format to play on the windows media format, it started saving to the Emo. I hope this helps you.

Won't turn on; won't turn off

The video may be glitched or the memory is full. Try unlocking the unit by pressing the reset button with a paperclip. It's located just below the on/off switch on the right side.
