S400 memory card error. Turn on camera - display "NO IMAGE MEMORY CARD ERROR". Can not take pictures, can not display pictures. Have several memory cards - same message, different cards. If the camera can be fixed who can and where should it be sent.

The internal BIOS battery has run down and is causing this error. Don't attempt to fix this yourself. Canon will fix this for you for free, with free shipping, regardless of your camera's warranty status. See and print out the following advisory:

I connected my cable to transfer pictures from my canon 100 ixus but it showed connection error. What does it means?

Troubleshooting the camera displaying Communication Error when connected to the computer via USB. If the camera displays "Communication Error," when trying to download images the main cause for this error is that there are more than 1000 images stored on the memory card. It is recommended if there are more than 1000 images on the memory card, that you use a card reader to acquire the images, or to delete images off of the memory so that there are less than 1000 images to download from the memory card.
If this is not the case, there are not 1000 or more images on the memory card, try reconnecting the camera to abnother port on the computer, try another cable or another computer. This error can also display when connecting to a direct print printer. Please check with the printer manufacturer for more information on this error.

When I turn on the camera the display is perfect, when I shoot a picture, the display of the shot comes out purple and when downloaded the picture on the memory card is the same. Distorted with lines.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free worldwide, and may also include free shipping both ways (free shipping varies with countries). This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check this link for more info.

Distorted image on LCD is what I get in the photo. I got a Canon IXUS400 and the LCD display is blurry and the picture is also blurry. I got of the plane and turned on my camera and saw this. Not sue of...

Canon has recognized that the IXUS400\S400 camera had two manufacturing defects. One is a memory card error and the other is the CCD image sensor which can cause the LCD screen to act dysfunctional. Contact Canon. They will fix these issues for free. Even if the camera is out of factory warranty.

My camera (Canon S400) says "Memory card Error" and will not allow me to take any pictures.

When a canon S400 displays a memory card error this means that it has experienced an anomaly. This means that you have to reformat the memory card. You can do this via the menu. Make sure that you backup the pictures on it using a CF card reader on your computer

Memory card error

Canon will fix this for you for free. It's an inherent fault with the S400. It has a little internal button battery that causes the problem as it gets old and run down. Check this website for more info. Look for the bright/bold yellow post describing how to return to Canon.

Good Luck!

Memory card error

Solution:
1 set date to 31-12-2030 23h59 and switch camera off.
2 wait two minutes, day will be 01-01-2003 and camera asks you to set the date
3 take away memory card
4 set the date to today
5 insert memory card again
Now your error should be solved.

Can't take a picture or even see an image in picture mode. I get an error message E18? I am able to look at photos taken in the past.

SkiPowder, the E18 error is fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension.
Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. Have already fixed several cameras with this problem by using these methods:
