Hi bboelter,
When you say "no heat", I take that to mean it's not
heating the food up. When a microwave suddenly stops heating food, but
still appears to run (the control electronics and light are usually a separate circuit), it's usually a defective/dead magnetron. Given the age of the oven (13+years), this is also points toward the magnetron. The fan _may_ or may not be on the same circuit as the magnetron, that's hard to say without a wiring diagram or schematic.
Prices
for replacement/repair will vary, you will need to find out what that
service costs in your area before having enough information to
decide on repair or replacement. If you tell the repairer that you suspect the magnetron, they should be able to quote you a fairly accurate estimate.
When my first microwave lost
it's magnetron (~20 yrs ago), it was 5 years old at the time, and the
cost of buying a new oven was only a little more than the repair - but
I had the repair done anyhow. Since then, we've replaced the entire
oven instead (twice). Newer ones may have more power/less energy
wastage, etc.
