Using an i930 on the Boost network. Boost is aware. I can't send or receive text msgs or MMS's. Boost customer service says the i930 may be too smart for their 64K SIM card. What's up with that? Is there a way to decertify the phone or something? I get the same error msg that others have listed - "texting available in GSM mode only." When I switch to GSM mode, I have no service. There HAS GOT to be a way to fix this. It's a totally sweet phone (windows mobile based) but how lame is it if I can't send/receive texts? I've seen a ton of software out there for downloading, but $29.99? Come on! Any help/advice would be so appreciated. Thanks!

I read about a program that work via internet and receives the messages for your phone and sends it to your phone. but i was in a spanish forum.i will look in to it to see if i can find it.
i have decerted my i920 and i don't get that annoying screen. but still doesn't work. the only way to send a text is via mms but still can't receive. i did a research and read that boost uses mms not sms and boost phone converts any sms to mms so you can read them and when you use a phone from nextel their phone don't have that feature.
i also hear about another option but i haven't tryed. i heard that if you get a nextel simcard and you call boostmobile and say that you want to update you info to a new sim card and you give out the sim card number you can use you boost number under that simcard and be able to send and receive messages.

You can receive right msgs right? mo-sms update to iden txt messaging - you need a clean sim to activate newer iden phones. Honestly, not even sure they'll work on Boost.

transmitter (which is CDMA) cannot make calls on the Boost ( iDEN )
system.
Moreover, if you plan to use Boost Mobile, I STRONGLY
suggest that you NOT purchase a Nextel phone and have it unlocked to use
for Boost.
Although Nextel and Boost phones seem the same -
they are not. If you look at the model number of Nextel phones most of
them end in a zero. (ie., i850, i870 etc.) where Boost Mobile Phones
end with the number five. (ie., i855, i875, etc.) This is because the

ok even if you had a nextel sim you cannot send an "sms" you can only send "mms" nextel even on the other phones never allowed sms texting. you will have to deal with just the mms messaging, need anymore help text me @ 215-982-6687 BigT
