    Me TOO! Mine is a small 1 pixel wide red line about 3 inches long. XBR5, 14 months old.

    This just happened, a small green (1) pixel vertical line approximately (3) inches in length appeared on the screen.  Sounds like a manufacturer defect.  Has anyone called Sony?  I so, what is their response?

    I have two small green lines that were just noticed today. I contacted Sony Online Tech support and they sent me a link. it is: http://esupport.com/US/perl/news-item.pl...

    I am going to try to get Geek Squad or an authorized in-home repair done and then reimbursed by Sony. Let me know if this helps!

Unplug the TV , the hard reboot will cause the line to disappear in a few minutes, must be some algorithm that kicks in

Sony bravia xbr has red vertical lines going through it
Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player. Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

I have a 46 inch Sony Bravia 46 XBR4 set. The right side went out only colored lines appear. The rest of the screen is fine. email address [email protected].
Sounds like the tcon (timing control) board. Sometimes unplugging the LVDS cables from the tcon, cleaning and reconnecting solves this. The catches on the LVDS cables are easily damaged and must be handled carefully.
