The most common problem with that is the AVG program is not compatible with your operating system or you have the incorrect dot matrix platform up date .net and try again, and make sure to select your operating system

Hi,

Its possible that some malware modified your Internet Properties.Open Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Select the TAB "Connections" -> click on Lan definitions and uncheck the checkbox referent to the use of a proxy. If its allready uncheked then there may be a problem in the DNS server. To correct this you must contact your ISP for the correct DNS IPs and put them in: Network Connections - > TCP/IP -> DNS

Which anti-virus program are you using ? As this issue do not pertain to the browser rather than your anti-virus. Its quite possible that you have some infected file already in your computer. I suggest you to update the anti-virus program and run a complete system scan and then try to download the files that you are trying previous. Also check if Chrome is set as your default browser because if so it will automatically open the compatible file with it rather than AOL as you desire.

My google chrome has downloaded but it says an error 0 x 80040204 i downloaded the file abot 4 times and still the same error pops up

If you have AVG virus software installed on your computer, try temporarily disabling AVG Resident Shield, AVG Link Scanner, and AVG Web Shield and then try to install Chrome.
If you don't have AVG installed, then try disabling whatever virus protection you are using and then try installing Chrome.

I M WORRIED ABOUT VIRUS. WHAT CAN I DO NOW?

If you are worried about viruses affecting your computer, I suggest you install an anti-virus program on your computer. There are commercial anti-virus programs such as Nortons and McAfee.
There are also freeware anti-virus programs on the Internet, AVG is a good program. Generally commercial programs offer better protection.
AVG also offers a commercial version of their freeware anti-virus program.
Please click on this link to download freeware AVG should you wish to use this program :-

First of all get a good Malware and an anti-virus programm [I use AVG n its good] n try removing any viruses that must have found way into your computer. Secondly stop using Internet Explorer coz it's very vulnerable to Viruses.I suggest u use Google Chrome download from here: http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html Click 'Accept and install'. Thirdly keep your Anti-Virus and Windows Up-to-date.

Avg 8 removal problem....

This could be because you did not follow a proper procedure for an anti-virus removal. Nevermind, follow these instruction:
  1. Download CleanUp utility from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301.
  2. Install it and run it
  3. Scroll down and select AVG products and remove them one after the other (if there are more than one)
  4. Restart the computer and install your new anti-virus program
Kindly get back if need any further help

Computer problem

The only way to get a reliable anti-virus is to purchase. Use the control panel - add/remove and uninstall any avg programs. Then run msconfig - startup and disable any avg program. Reboot. See what happens. Purchase an anti-virus and load that.

I am trying ti install agv anti virus i have completley unistalled norton but i kepp getting this error message action failed for file agvmfx86 sys starting service error 0x80070002

Always shut down all running programs before trying to install anything like AVG. If you already have an AV program, uninstall it before trying to install AVG.

If still having problems after doing that..... RE-Download AVG 7.5 FREE and try the install again.
Good Luck,
