Try reinstalling the driver.
Confirm that it has installed by testing audio in control panel in windows.
Finally try re sitting the audio connector internally.
Worst of all, audio card is damaged..(very unlikely)

Sure, get the Correct HP driver for this exact pc but, but but...
The windows sounds are dead. (do that yet>, CP + sound test)
CP = control panel
try to know , most HP made,
dv6345us, can have 3 sound chips as an option day 1 new!what you have is clearly stated in the service tag that you did NOT
post, the number ending in ABA# is THAT number.
the chip and PC and the unstated OS all must match

windows what? you never said so i cant match that either.
VISTA????????? vista 32 bit or 64????????
but the other way is what, sure, guess.
read the drivers at HP and try all there.
for sound chips (aka audio)

This HP computer is 11 years old. now. (2007)
HP dropped most support on it this old, (SOP)

one sound chip is Conexant AC -Link Audio
lets say you said (service tag) RV214UA#ABA
and you said VISTA> what works there.
the secret is deep, lacking full spec, from HP.
finding Conexant drivers is not easy, lots of hits all virus sites now.
lets first look .
does device manager show it as bad.
CP+DM see sound there. is it red, yellow or Unknown marked.
go to CP again control panel
click sound is the Conexant still there.
the window for sound has a speaker is it selected?
select speaker then properties lower right.
then pick enhancements
hit checkmark, disable all sound effects
click tab levels, turn up volume.
can you do all that, i bet not, its got bad drivers for this chip
VISTA btw is dead so asking MS to update driver is dream of dreams, hopeless, now and for sure forward.
you dont have the HP install disks so that source too is missing.,
leaving you , VISTA and MS and HP and conexant in the lurch.

if microsoft was not dead and your internet was alive (is it)
the remove the driver, and reload, it under device manager.
it then magically PnP reloads from MS but not if the MS driver servers are off line as they sure are. (1/2 or all) (ms secret this is)
Hard this is,::::, 1ST OFF, is HP ended support,
ON YOUR PC NOW.
2nd VISTA support has ended at MS. (double dead)
3rd factor (bad) IS Conexant maker of chip and their Driver. IS DEAD. TRIPLE DEAD.
SHORT WHY>?
synaptics Bought out Conexant in 2017, and shows no support NOW. FOR THAT.

the Snaptics web site lists nothing on the words driver or conexant. zero support, but do call them,,,?
SO that ends that foray.

leaving all those malwares sites offering this driver, only. ? many we can find it this magical way. the FAMOUS DRIVER PACKS site. (all safe ask)

the one place on earth with no malware is here.
this is the vista set 32bit only 64 is on other page
there are 15 drivers for Conexant. there. get them try them.
end story

i looked in that driver pack
    9 installers for vista/7 32bit.
all clean, and passes virustotal, scans 56pass
i CAN TEACH HOW GO GET
    the exact chip codes (VEN+DEV)
and use that to find which of the 9 match.
or try all 9 and you tell me.

SOURCE: Compaq Evo N610c No internal sound

No, you need not to install soud/audio driver if its work with external speakers. Its seems that the internal speaker of your laptop has got damaged. So you shuld call your vendor for service. If you are in warranty it will be free for you.

Thanks

My hp pavilion dv6000 speakers and mic are not functioning even headset

Have you tried installing the correct sound drivers? If not, go to:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?prodNameId=3224050&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=1842153

Then select your current operating system and select your sound drivers. If that does not work, it might be the speakers and mic connector aren't connected properly onto your board, your speakers and mic are faulty or your on-board sound is completely faulty. In that case take it to your nearest Laptop Repair Shop. If its under warranty, take it back to the shop you bought it.

Hp pavilion dv2046 sound problem

hi,1. first of all please check whether the mute options is checked or unchecked.2. After that go to device manager and check whether audio drivers are there or not. - Try to plug in the headphone and check whether the sound is coming or notIf there is no sound coming out of your speakers, but the headphone jack plays sound, there may be something wrong with your speakers. If this is the case, you can either use headphones or external speakers, or attempt to use the laptop's warranty to get HP to fix the speakers. Plugging and unplugging a headphone from the jack several times has supposedly caused some users' speakers to start playing sound again.
3. If the drivers are not there then go ahead install the drivers from the hp website by using the product of your computer.4. If the problem still exists then try to update the bios of your computer with the l latest version.5. Try to run the recovery of the computer and check after that.

Built in speaker does not work but headset is work hp pavilion dv6000. thank you

The speaker of your computer has a problem not the sound card device because when you're using headset its work. Try to use the external speaker when they are functioning, automatically you need to replace your built-in speaker to fix that problem.

I'vs had my HP Pavilion Dv9000 laptop about 2 months now, and it has been great. recently however sounds have only been coming from the right sound channel. The left side just makes a starng buzzing noise...

There is a problem is the sound card. The HP laptop should be still under warranty, take it to the supplier to get it repaired under warranty. If you try to fix it yourself you most likely will void your warranty.

Sound only works with headset. No longer comes

If the sound is working through another device then it seems that the internal speakers are bad. Because if the sound card was bad you wouldn't have any sound whatsoever, same goes for drivers. Probably just some bad speakers. If you have some other external speakers try plugging them into the headphone port and see if that helps.

In my laptop is HP PAVILION dv2000 model.

That 'beeping' is from the processor. The speakers aren't working because there is no sound driver installed.

Reinstalling the OS or initiating a system recovery will delete all the sound drivers (maybe others).

So, download your required drivers from here (search for your particular model in the series).

Headphone Speaker Jack Needs Replacement

That honestly sounds more like a headphone wire problem than anything else. If you have another headset, headphones or speaker system that you can hook up, I would test it on those to try to rule that out as a problem.

If that isnt it, I can try to find the disassembly instructions for your laptop. (Unless your warranty is still good, in which case I would tell you to send it in and get it fixed professionally.)

No speaker sound (HP Pavilion dv6000)

there a loss connection in the speaker of your system. locate the loss connection and fix it. if hard for you fix then you should call the technician to fixed for you ..or either use external speaker so that you can hear sounds without using headset.
