MAIN OVEN DOESNT WORK

I have HBN 7050GB Double oven. Everything works fine except lower oven in which the element has blown (definitely open circuit). Replaced element, however still doesnt work. Element resistance is 36 ohms so fine. However 240v not getting to connectors when powered on. Is there an internal fuse somewhere? not sure where to go with this

but upper oven would also be off if oven switch contacts blew right?

  • Anonymous May 12, 2009

Hi I have the same problem, have had 6 new elements in 3 years and blew again last night. Very dissapointed as I have all Bosch appliances to match. I am buying a new oven now as it has cost me £800 to buy and a further £300 on callouts/ elements. Fitter told me it is a know problem with this type of element but Bosch haven't done anything about it.

I HAVE A HBN 43M5.OB DOUBLE OVEN AND THE MAIN OVEN WILL NOT HEAT UP AND THE RED LIGHT STAYS ON .THE GRILL WORKS ON THE MAIN OVEN AND SO DOES THE SMALL OVEN WORK.

Most likely the heater element has burnt out. This is accessible by removing the panel in the back of the oven.

I purchased a microwave/convect oven combo last week. Installed today, everything works fine except that the lower oven won't heat. I tried turning the breakers off waiting a few minutes and back on. ...

Ensure that the clock is set and that is not in auto mode, the clock is only linked to the main oven and therefore it will not opearte if the clock is not set correctly, all the best

Bake element

It may have also Blown the Fuse, to the element, in the stove itself.

Bottom oven does not heat up fan works

The element is usually located at the rear of the oven compartment, behind a removeable cover, this is also where the fan is located.
Hope this helps.
