Sata drives require no jumper settings. Just install it and the computer will do the rest.

SOURCE: Can I use a WD3200AAJS

Hello!
The drive you have is a SATA drive, and has no master/slave configuration as such.  There is a connector block on the back to configure other options such as spread spectrum clocking.  Normal configuration is a jumper between pins 1 and 2 (all the way on the right side, facing the back).  A picture of the other configuration options is shown below.
Hope this helps you out,
Ken

SOURCE: i need firmware for Western Digital WD Caviar Blue

If you are troubleshooting a system or OS problem, you should not consider firmware updates until after exploring more typical troubleshooting steps like file system error checking and anti-virus scanning.

try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to fix any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this should schedule the task on restart then defragment your hard drive

Im getting this message primary slave hard disk error the model is WD3200AAjs

Most (older) motherboards have two "channels" for devices (CD, disk-drives, ZIP drives, LS-120 drives).

Each channel supports two devices: one "master" device and one "slave" device.

Check the "primary" channel, not the "secondary" channel.

Check the "slave" device, not the "master" device, on the "primary" channel.

The device either has failed, or is announcing that it soon will fail.

My WD3200AAJS will not spin up. I think the PC board is fried. where do i get a replacement for it. I need to get the information from the hard drive.

Just a suggestion;
I would buy another Western Digital WD3200AAJS, remove the circuit board, and install it in the one that needs it.

Copy off the needed info, then discard the drive. Install the circuit board back into the one it came out of, and have a good 320GB SATA Harddrive.

My mb Asus K8N cant start using HDD WesternDigital WD3200AAJS

Unplug your computer.
On the end of the disk-drive, there is three-by-two grid of gold pins, labelled MA(ster), SL(ave), and C(able)S(elect). Move the jumper to the 'CS' position.

Start your computer.
Press DEL to enter BIOS SETUP.
Use "auto detect IDE drives", and the 160GB drive should be recognized.
