SOURCE: I have the tv in standard mode, but I am unable to

I bet you are using a cable box or satelite receiver. If so check for aspect buttons on the remote that control these devices. I know comcast says "HD Zooom".

How can I obtain a picture that covers the full screen width?

There are settings accessed through the TV remote that should allow you to adjust the screen size. Sometimes movie rentals are shown at widescreen (black at top and bottom of screen) due to how the actual movie was made to be viewed by the viewing audience.

Picture crop

HI,
One way is to go to your menu bar at the top of your web browser, click on "File" then "Print Preview". At the top of the window there should be a small window with "Shrink To Fit" in it. Click the arrow on that box for a drop down list and choose something, like 90% (there is a custom option at the bottom of the list if you need to set something unique in between what's listed) and see how it changes the print size of what is to be printed out and choose the one that looks and works best for you without cutting off text somewhere. This will make it larger when printed out.

Another way that usually works to make the print larger when printing internet stuff & emails is by changing the view size on the screen to a larger size in your web browser (this is separate from your other setting you've already setup). Go to the menu bar at the top (i.e. Internet Explorer), click on "View," then "Text Size" then select a size like "Larger" or "Largest" (something higher than what you're currently set to.)

Sometimes adjusting the current window's magnification (lower right corner of screen or Ctrl button + scroll wheel on mouse) can have an affect on print size.

The only other method is to copy & paste the text into a text editing software like Word and adjust the text size there. If you're using a text program, then you simply adjust the size of the text to a 12 or 14 point, or larger, font size (adjust depending on the font and size you need) and that should do the trick.

Fix my screen size

Click start control panel display desktop you can select a different desktop from the drop down list
or a browse button where you can select different pictures this may vary depending on your operating system.

Also settings you can change the settings for more or less pixels or from the drop down list pick the appropriate level of color range or troubleshoot also select advanced then general dpi normal size, larger size or custom settings
always click APPLY after making any changes.

Right click in the top toolbar you will see a number of toolbars and options select the menu tab this will add to the Toolbar File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help

On the top of the internet page you should see some tabs file edit view favorites tools and help Click on the view tab on the drop down list you should see a zoom size %

Click a different percentage also a text size you might try a different text size although this will not increase the size of the page only the text fonts inside it

There might be a menu button on the monitor where you can adjust reduce / expand the screen sizes usually located on the underside of the monitor of course this will depend on your brand of monitor.

hope this helps.

Picture on Telefunken 72 cm TV expands beyond screen size

Your screen somehow got switched to theatre/cinema mode. There is a setting on the remote that attributes to aspect ratio. Sometimes it is called "ASPECT". Look for it, and press it until your original screen aspect shows.

Picture and text extend beyond screen

Your tv needs to be put into service mode with the original Sony remote control and then set the vertical\horizontal size parameter to the correct values and then burn the new settings to memory
Google " sony tv service mode " and you should find the procedure. Good Luck! Write back if you have problems.

Picture size won't fit screen. Can't see scrolling text at bottom (e.g. sports scores on ESPN)

hi there,

its probably not the tv but the set top box you need to fix. go to the settings and select the mode you want ie. widescreen 16:9 etc

then go to the tv and select the full mode or widescreen mode at 16:9

that should solve your problem. it takes some time to find the combination between the set top box and the tv to get it right

good luck
