I finally figured it out. Somehow I had messed with the Autoplay settings uploading pics the last time I guess. Anyways, if you experience this problem, check this out first and see if it fixes it for you before you do anything else:
What if the import dialog box doesn't appear?
If the dialog box prompting you to import your pictures doesn't appear when you connect the camera to your computer, AutoPlay might be turned off. You can import your pictures using Windows Photo Gallery instead. Here's how:
1.
Open Windows Photo Gallery by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.
2.
On the toolbar, click File, and then click Import from Camera or Scanner.
3.
In the Import Pictures and Videos dialog box, choose your camera from the list of devices, and then click Import. If you prefer, you can turn on AutoPlay or set AutoPlay to automatically import pictures from a digital camera. For more information, see Change AutoPlay Settings.
Depending on the type of file you are downloading, If its a Jpeg. Windows Fax & Picture viewer should open it.
Check the file extension that you downloaded and verify it is an Image file i.e (bmp, tiff, jpeg, gif)... Then, right click that file, choose properties and see Which program opens it.
If there isnt a default setup Click on Change...and choose Windows Fax & Picture Viewer
It will work only on Basic WIA drivers..(windows image acquisition) untill lexmark will make software, Its possible that they might not.
SCAN from WINDOWS Photo Gallery is possible...
Open windows photo gallery>Click File>Click Import from scanner>Import & thats it...
The scanned image will be saved on pc >My document/scans automatically & then later if u want to change the formats thats possible using 3rd part softwares
