Ebel Wave lady's watch battery

Ebel wave lady's watch-- Could you provide detail of how to take battery out to be replaced? I can open the top screws, take out the crystal, but cannot get the whole thing out to replace the battery-- I cannot remove the crown and its shaft to permit the machinery, including the battery, to be removed.

Thank you.

Unfortunately it seems landsend does not know what he is talking about. The ebel wave range, whilst a beautiful watch is a jeweller's nightmare.
The watch case is a solid peice of metal and there is no back. The battery is removed by unscrewing the screws at the front of the watch, removing the crystal, face and movement and then replacing the battery and putting everything.

I used to be a jeweller myself and I am having the same issue with my gent's wave. It looks like this is one of those times when you just have to bite the bullet and pay Ebel to do the work for you. It is just too much of a risk that you will damage the movement.

If I find a jeweller capable of chaning this battery i will post it here.

Hi I removed and replaced a Ebel Wave battery in all of 10 Minutes only because i dropped 1 screw.I did not have to remove the movement, just pop it up enough to have the battery fall out and slip a new one in.It takes a #321 Everredy Silver Oxide.Use the correct Screwdriver head otherwise you will damage the Screw heads, they are soft metal.I used some silicone on the Bezel gasket to keep moisture out.Easy and cost me all of $4.00

To change the batt on an ebel womans watch i simple. 1 take out screws from bezel. 2 lift off , make sure to keep rubber gasket in place. 3 pull out stem to the set position. 4 be very carefull not to bend / touch hands. 5 turn case upside down, and you will see the opp side from the winder drop out slitely. with your fingernail pull downwards gently on works, then when you have it out a little on that side, turn it back over. and continue to lifft up gently, 5 as you do so, start to rowtate the works counter clockwise. the stem is made to .bend / swivel and the works will turn upside down and lay back into the case. to protect the face while installing the batt. 6 when done gently lift the same way but rowtate clockwise. but make sure you grab sides of works and not the face. ( the hands are very delicate) 7 take the batt to a jeweler to replace you will never find a batt with the same number ( ebel made sure of that ) they want you to pay 140.00 to 240.00 for them to do it. but a jeweler can match it. now that said, once you take the bezel off, your ebel warenty is void. so 140 -240 or $5.00 your choice i have had meny watches over the years all with rubber gaskets and have replaced batts is some five times and the gasket are still fine. and a batt will last 3 to four years. five in 15 years could cost you $ 1020.00 in the long run. hope that answers your question.

Landsend, you have no idea what you are talking about, you have obviously never seen an Ebel Ladies wave - there is no back cover, the case is a solid piece of metal and the battery can only be accessed by removing the front bezel and glass, removing the hands and face and finally removing the stem (the hard bit!). Once all this is done the movement can be popped out to access and change the battery.

wrong, you dont have to remove anything but the bezel. pull out stem to the set position, the other side of the works ( opp ) the stem lifts up out of the case and rowtates counter clockwise, flipping over and back into case upside down exsposing batt. the stem on the watch is made to bend / rowtate . you do NOT take off hands, face, stem at all! doing this will mess up your watch and cost you not only the warrenty but also a huge repair bill . DO NOT touch the face of the watch. i have listed how to do this READ

You obviously don't know the first thing about watches...I'd be surprised if you haven't messed it up.  You simply remove the back case to replace the battery.  the part you call the machinery is called the caliber.

How to remove stem to get to battery in ebel ladies watch?

On my men's classic wave, the stem is removed simply by pulling it out. It feels like it's requiring a lot of force, but it is designed to have resistance so that it's not pulled out accidentally when setting the time.
So to change the battery, you remove the 5 faceplate screws, remove the crystal and gasket, pull out the stem and then the whole face/movement assembly will pull forward.
NOT positive yours is the same, but that's how my men's Classic Wave is. Good luck!

Ladies Ebel wave w/diamonds and sapphire face............jeweler cannot replace battery, does crystal need to be removed or remove back?

The back will need to be romoved, but in doing so yourself, you will VOID your warranty, and since this is an expensive watch, I highly recommend that you send it in.

I'm loking for a replacement black leather band

If you want to pay the premium for an Ebel strap then any Ebel dealer or an online source can provide that.
For a much more reasonable price, I would try a store that sells AND installs watch straps. Usually, only independant jewelers both sell and install these.
