It sure is. Use a linux distro with NMAP installed, then do nmap-sT -p- -Pn ***.***.***.*-***, replacing the stars with your ip address, and hyphenating the range you wish to scan across.

Sorry ,I don't have a solution but have sim. problem with Altec Lansing inMotion 5 ,switches on and off all the time ,it's a discontinued model but a great speaker.hopefully somebody can give us some suggestions .

You more than likely have a bad power block.  Check with a local Radio Shack and find a replacement that matches voltage and mA output.

If your TV has audio output jacks, then yes, you can connect your speaker system to the TV. Run a stereo RCA cable from those output jacks to the audio input jack on the Altec system, using whatever adapter required. You will probably need to convert from RCA jacks to a 1/8-inch stereo plug for the speaker input. Or you can pick up a cable from Radio Shack that has the RCA plugs on one end and the stereo plug on the other, and omit the adapter.

If the TV doesn't have audio output jacks, there isn't any easy way to hook up the Altec.
