SOURCE: Certain cameras are showing the same video.

First you need to isolate the problem. Step one - make sure the video from the cameras is correct - use a monitor and check each input separate. If the video is correct, use one camera and start from input one on the DVR and check all inputs - in other words plug your camera in input 1, check for video to make sure is correct and shows up in the right place, than go to input 2. This way you check your DVR cards. If the video shows up, but in the wrong place - check the settings on the DVR - you might be able to change the physical input in the viewer.Or you might have a bad DVR.......do a search for DVR Doctors in Google - in case you need repair.

How can I delete data from the hard drive of 'first alert' camera surveillance DVR?

Surveillance DVRs write over the oldest data when the hard drive needs more space.

You do not need to manage that manually. It is all handled automatically by the operating system of the DVR.

I've got a problem with my cctv cnm 160GB H 264 4 channel DVR I have 3 cameras set up on it and 1 of the cameras have stop working I've checked all power and cables and they are all working fine the...

Remove all the cameras then reboot. If it boots up normally then shut down dvr and add a camera and repeat. If it doesn't solve the problem, the issue is probably a video card or motherboard issue and will need to be repaired or replaced.

I cannot access my internet viewer

More details are required.
The Samsung 'SmartViewer' program starts up on a computer. You can access it whether you have a recorder or not.
The Samsung 4 channel DVR has a menu to set IP address & ports to use and a netjack to connect to internet. You can access the DVR from any computer connected to the same router as the DVR by inserting the same correct info into 'SmartViewer' as in the the DVR.
Once you open the required ports in your router, port forward the router to the DVR, any incoming requests from the internet to view should connect and with the correct password you can view your security cams.
With minor adjustments..that's it.
What didn't you do?

Can't view my cameras

The DVR will be programmed with an IP Address via the DVR main menu function (network settings) and a valid password. The network viewing software (web viewer) you will need to ensure that the IP address is entered correctly for your DVR along with your valid user password.

Trust the above info is of assistance if you require a manual in order to check your settings try this link http://tv.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/samsung/samsung_dvr_product_list.html

Tried installing hdd from cctv dvr to save it's contents.....

Hi,

Most PVR's use a small linux micro operating system to run there menus and handle the drives, as such many of the drives used by them are formatted in Ext2/3. You will need to install a driver in windows that allows it to mount ext? drives and then you should have no problem accessing it. The link below will take you to a download site for a free driver, but they do ask you to donate. Please if it works throw them a bone as this is how they keep providing such useful software for all of us.

If this works, copy the files to your computer and then let the PVR reformat the drive, unfortunately when windows doesn't recognize the drive as being formatted, it marks it. That mark is messing with the PVR but after you add these drivers you should have no problem moving the drive back and fourth as it will recognize the drive and it's data in the future.

Suggestion doesn't seem to apply to my tv

Service menu settings and resetting if still nothings happen. Then DVD works fine and then the signal strength is 95%. Then the problem is your cable card provider. They blocked your channel this is the common problem of card deactivation. Just try this, take the cable connection and put an ordinary outdoor antenna, if still not working then the problem is in the signal board , but if it's works ok then the problem is cable card activation...

Checking the Diagnostics screen 1. Make sure the RF cable is plugged securely into the CABLE connector (not the ANTENNA connector) on the back of the DVR.
2. Tune to a channel that is having a problem and press RECORD to lock the tuner to the CableCARD.
3. Press the TIVO button and select Messages & Settings > Account & System Information > Diagnostics. Look for the number of the problem channel, and then look below it for the Signal Lock setting.

• Signal Lock: Yes means the DVR is detecting a signal for the channel. In this case, the DVR usually cannot display the channel because either the CableCARD has not been activated or during activation the card did not receive the provisioning necessary to display the channel. For more information, go to
Step 4: Determining if the CableCARD is activated.

• Signal Lock: No means the DVR is not detecting a signal on the channel. If this is happening for only one or a few channels, this channel may not be in your lineup. For more information, go to
How Do I Determine Which Cable Lineup Is Mine?

If you see Signal Lock: No, and Test Channels could not display any video on the CableCARD, use the following procedure to check the signal connections.

Checking signal connections 1. Partially eject the CableCARD(s) so that they are disconnected from the slot.
WARNING: If you remove the CableCARD(s) completely, you must take care to replace them in the same slot. Switching slots will unpair the cards; to re-establish pairing, you will need to contact your cable provider.
2. Press the LIVE TV button on the TiVo remote control. Do you see video?

• If you see video, the CableCARD activation was not successful. For more information, go to
Step 4: Determining if the CableCARD is activated.

• If you do NOT see video, go to Step 3.

3. Plug the RF cable connection directly into your TV. Do you see video? • If you see video, go to Step 4.
• If you do NOT see video when the cable feed is connected only to your TV, contact your cable provider.
4. Reconnect the cable to the DVR and try the following, in order. Press the LIVE TV button and check for video after each step.

a. Check the cable connection on the back of the DVR. Make sure the RF cable is securely attached to the CABLE connector.

b. Press the INPUT button on your TV remote control to cycle through the settings. The Input setting must match the physical connection between the DVR and your TV (HDMI or Composite, for example).

c. Press the FORMAT button on the front of the DVR to cycle through the settings. This ensures that the DVR is sending a compatible signal to your TV.

d. If you have any splitters installed, remove them and then reattach the RF cable to the DVR.

5. Restart the DVR. After the DVR restarts press the LIVE TV button. If you still cannot see video, contact the TiVo CableCARD hotline.

How to connect a motorola DCH3416 to a computer Can I connect an external Hard drive to a DCH3416 USB or SATA port so that programs record to the externl HDD, or how can I tranfer recorded program to the...

Nope...

The eSATA ports are not configured in the device's firmware, and the USB 2.0 ports are useless except for charging your iPod or powering a USB fan. If you could connect an external drive to the unit, it would be partitioned with data encryption that can only be accessed by the particular DVR that formatted the drive. You can however stream local channels to a video capture card via the firewire ports but cable channels and DVR recorded programs would be encrypted. You can thank the MPAA for the grief...
