Try rebooting the router and your internet - modem power off for 10 seconds then back on. Make certain your modem is connected to the internet by directly connecting with it using a LAN cable. If it is OK check the LAN cable between the to units - try a new cable.

The final solution is a factory reset of your router. You can do a factory reset by logging into the router using you browser. Go to the settings and perform a factory reset

If you forgot the router password, you ill have to do a factory reset by locating a small hold on the back of the router and insert the tip of of paper clip for about 10 seconds while the power is on. The router will be reset to out of box status and then you can set-up form scratch.

This is the fix from d-link:
Router rebooting itself print.gif You may be experiencing trouble with a feature known as UPnP(TM). This feature allows Windows XP and Me machines to remotely open necessary ports for Internet Applications. You may try disabling UPnP (on the router AS WELL AS your computers) to see if this cures your reset woes. Log into the web-based configuration, access the Tools page, then the Misc. button. Choose the disabled button next to UPnP. Click Apply. You should no longer experience the frequent resets.Try disabling in XP first to see if that fixes issue.

To manually disable UPnP/SSDP in Windows 2000/XP/Vista:

  • Go to Start Menu-->Run...
  • Type "services.msc" and click OK
  • Find the service named "Universal Plug and Play Device Host" service
  • Click the Stop button to stop the service
  • Under Startup type, select Disabled from the pull-down menu and click OK
  • Find the service named "SSDP Discovery Service" and double-click
  • Click the Stop button to stop the service
  • Under Startup type, select Disabled from the pull-down menu and click OK

SOURCE: DIR-615 D-Link Router Problems...!

Try to reset the router first by pressing the reset button at the back of the router for 20 seconds then power cycle it by unplugging the power for 30 seconds then plug it back in. Here's how to set it up

1. You don't need to use the setup CD that came with it.
2. Make sure you have the proper physical connection
3. From your modem, connect the ethernet to the Internet/WAN port of the Dlink, then your computer to port # 1.
4. Do a power cycle. Unplug power to router and modem. Wait for 30 seconds. Power on the modem first, wait for all the lights to steady then power on the router. You should be all set

SOURCE: Problem for D-Link DIR-615 Wireless Router, Orange Power Light

I have had multiple problems with these routers. They tend to drop signals or have other issues that are hard to explain in a few short sentences.
After you rebooted did you open your browser and type in the IP address to connect to the router software?

can you be more specific?

Sometimes routers can die periodically.
You can perform a 'reset' on the router to put it back to factory settings, but you will lose everything you have configured.

To reset, press(and hold) the reset button on the back of the router (its small).
Continue to hold it for 30 seconds
Unplug the power (while still holding the reset button).
Wait 30 seconds, then plug it in again.
(Don't let go of the reset button just yet)
Wait 30 seconds after plugging it in, then let go.
Go make a coffee or do something for 5 minutes while the router does its thing.
If all goes well you'll be back at square one.

Link failed and flashing light

it sounds like you have locked the Router into Firmware Flash mode by incorrectly performing the reset steps which are :
To reset the router, locate the reset button (hole) on the rear panel of the unit. With the router powered on, use a
paperclip to hold the button down for 10 seconds. Release the button and the router will go through its reboot process.
Wait about 30 seconds to access the router. The default IP address is 192.168.0.1. When logging in, the username is admin and leave the password box empty.
If however, one presses and holds the Reset button while it's off, then turns it ON, then it will start the flash process and flash the power light orange.
To recover, you will need to re-flash the Router.
Here is the D-link support page to find your firmware, you will need to find the correct "version" of the 615 you have and download that file, (you will need to un-zip it,) then follow these steps :
        1. Disconnect the power cable from the router.
        2. Open a web browser and type in the URL http://192.168.0.1/ but DO NOT PRESS [enter] or the [GO] button yet.
        3. Press and HOLD the [reset] button on the router and connect the power cable. Continue to hold the [reset] button for about 10 seconds, then release.
        4. Now click inside the address bar of the browser and press [enter] or the [GO]. The "Emergency Room" Updating Firmware screen should display.
        5. Browse to and upload the DIR615_v4.11_B02.bin image file.
        6. When you see the message "IMAGE UPLOAD SUCCESS", the flash will begin to be erased and re-written.
        7. Use your browser to again connect to the router at http://192.168.0.1/ or press [F5] and refresh the page.

The Dlink setup screen should load. If not, you did something wrong. Go back and try again.

Hi,
Welcome to FixYa!
It seems that you are having problem with the D-link router. Since you've already done resetting the router, you can try to do a hard reset. Please follow the steps below.
1. Turn off the modem first.
2. At the back of the D-Link router, you will see there a tiny hole where you can press by a pen or a paper clip.
3. Press and hold it for at least 15 seconds while the router is on.
4. After 15 seconds, release the button then power down the router.
5. Power on the modem first then the router.
Note: Once you reset the router, all the settings inside the router will go back to its default, you will need to reconfigure it. If you are using PPPOE connection which requires a username and password from your ISP, you will need to reconfigure that inside the router as well the wireless settings.
Hope this information will help. Thank you for using FixYa!

Make sure all the wires are connected properly. 1.-Unplug your modem and router from the power supply. Wait 1 minute. 2.-Plug your modem back to the power and wait for all the lights to stop flashing. 3.-Plug your router back to the power and wait for the lights to stop flashing
Follow these steps and your internet should be working again!

When I plug in the router, the power light comes on steadily, and four other lights are flashing. The light that looks like a globe, and the lights shaped like computers numbered 1-4 all start flashing. ...

On page 6 of the DIR-600 user manual, try pressing and holding the reset button for 30 seconds using the tip of a ballpoint pen to factory reset the router.
If that does not resolve the issue, then most likely your router has failed and will need to be replaced. This DIR-600 router became End Of Serviceable Life on December 1, 2009.

D-link dir-130 was in the process of saving settings for port forwarding, I did not receive a settings saved screen. Now I have no internet, and the router will not let me back in

Reset the router.
Push something small in the reset hole on the back, some routers need to be switched off, then push the reset and keep it pushed for about 20 seconds after you have switched it back on
