Hi My Biostar P4M890-M7 TE with P4M9M709.BSB BIOS (newest I could find) won't start using a replacement E6500 Dual core processor even after a CMOS reset. OK currently on a P4 3.06. Any way to re

Won't start means that the cpu fan spins, the hard disk runs but no signal to screen or any activity at all. When the old P4 is inserted it's all good again. Even disconnected mobo battery, power connector and reset cmos, nothing makes any difference. !! Thanks

SOURCE: cmos resetting

Ok so you know the bat is good cause you checked the voltage. You double checked the bios jumper making sure it is not set to clear. Looking in your manual you can go to AMD XP3200+, & you are under that. So either you have a short or your bios needs flashed because it's messed up. Could have went when the cpu died.

That board has a built in video card if I have the right info. If you are using an external video ie plug in card then you need to make sure the onboard video is disabled or that the plug in card is designated as the main video card. Not doing either of those will cause the black screen.

SOURCE: motherboard biostar p4m890 m7 can'toverclock intel dual core 2140

Because this is a very basic motherboard, with a very simple chipset without extra capabilities, let alone performance ones like overclocking.

I need driver vga P4M890-M7 SE for win7

It doesn't appear that BIO Star created drivers for vista/7 that I can tellhttp://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdownloads.asp?model=P4M890-M7%20PCI-E

Try the top one from the link above with XP/64 under the OS column the 64 may indicate Vista which in a lot of cases will also work on Windows 7

When i start my pc a get at meeage that ram is over clk and the pc not start.tell me how to reset ram clk during startup

You'll need to clear the bios back to its default settings. There sre five versions of motherboards.
See the list below;
P4M890-M7 TE 7.x
P4M890-M7 SE 7.x
P4M890-M7 PCI-E 7.1
P4M890-M7 PCI-E 7.0
P4M890-M7 FE 7.x
I'll guide you using the manual for P4M890-M7 FE 7.x
Turn to page 17 and follow the instruction to clear the cmos. Open page 6 for a closer look of the JCMOS location. Once finished you will need to enter the bios and re-setup the settings. This time around try not to over clock the memory.

Dual core E2160 1.8ghz doesnot display actual speed

i think the reason for not using 800fsb is your memory. make sure that you use ram that supports 800 fsb (ddr2-800).

as i don't have the manual i describe you another problem that may be the reason if you already use ddr2-800 ram -> on some mainboards the fsb is rated down when a defined level of memory built in is reached. please check your manual if your board has such a limitation.
