I found out that the file structure is .AVI - I basically rename the .MOD files to .AVI in a DOS window, and they work fine ( Using VLC Media Player). Basically, access your camera like a Hard Drive from your PC, copy and paste your .MOD video files ( don't worry about the .MOI's, I don't know what they do, and they don't affect the play or sound of the video ), then rename them from either WIndows Explorer, or a Dos window, to a .AVI file extension. They play perfect for me. I tried using the Videocam Suite 1.0, but it is JUNK, and won't work with my XP Media Edition on my Dell anyway, the manual states that as well.

try to use USB to plug your device to your computer. make sure that you have an installed driver for your camcorder to recognize your device on your pc. all brand new camcorder came with an installation software cd. now your ready to transfer your video to your computer. use any movie maker application like ulead movie maker, nero movie maker or windows movie maker edit it and save it. burn it to your vcd or dvd burner to play on your dvd player. if you dont have a driver i will find one for you. hope that helps!

You can connect to any computer with a USB port. It appears as a hard drive after you tell the camera to connect (in the menu). Then just copy the .mod files to a spot on yor computer; there will be one for each movie clip.
Your next chore is changing them into MPEG files at the correct aspect ratio. If you shot in 16:9 they will be squished together unless you use the SDCopy freeware utility to set the widescreen flag. It also renames and downloads files for you, and it's small. There's a link from this tutorial page, which also explains a lot about aspect ratios and such:
