My Blackberry storm will not ring. It will vibrate but the ringer will not play out loud. I have tried adjusting the volume and turning off vibrate but this doesn't help. When I tried to play my ringtones through my media file it says error playing file not supported. Any ideas whats up or how to fix it?
It seems like the problems starts after using an audio streaming app (Slacker)It also seems to correct after a reset(battery out and back in).

Since yesterday my 8900 stopped ringing and clock alarm does not work anymore.
I have done the following:
1. Profiles. Reviewed my Normal(Active) profile under the Profiles menu tab Advanced. Tried several options on the Phone settings, including Out of Holster: Tone, Vibrate Tone, changed the Ring Tone, changed the Volume. Made sure Mute, None, or Do Not Disturb options were NOT selected. Nothing.
2. Chose a different profile, such as Loud. Nothing.
3. Turned the phone off, pulled the battery out and reinserted. Nothing.
4. Turned the phone on, pulled the battery out and reinserted. Nothing.
I just tried to play a music but it failed untill I pressed Menu and selected Activate Handset instead of Speakerphone and the music start to play.
Someone please help

My blackberry storm rings sometimes. It has not rang in the last 4 days. It will vibrate if I have it set to vibrate...sometimes. The only time I know I've missed a call or have a msg is by looking at my phone to see the little red light blinking. I have adjusted the volume, and the ringtones several times - no luck.

I had the same problem with it would not ring.
Turned out when I turned the volume up on the side button, it did ring again.

I have the same problem, it will vibrate once and will not play the ringtone. Very frustrating!! I've been trying all sorts of things.....shouldn't be this hard. Pleaset post if you find a solution.

I had the same problem! My husband uninstalled the disc that came with my phone and reinstalled. He then reconfigured the phone and it works!

My storm won't ring either. I thought it might be because I installed a new theme but I changed it back to the original theme and it's still not ringing. It also won't alert me when I receive e-mails and texts. I am so pissed!
Damn texts only ring sometimes. Usually it will only vibrate, but other times it wont even.. I have to check my phone every 10 minutes to make sure I didn't miss anything! SO ANNOYING
i have the same problem as well..... my phone will only vibrate when receiving texts and phone calls...but is set up for loud ringer? bloody annoying is right....having to check every five minutes to see if you missed a call.... i also have this icon on my phone "o_o" right at the top of the screen in the middle. have no idea what it means! it kinda looks like that but the underscore is connected to the o's.

The "o_o" means u have a voice mail.
I had the same problem. My camera wouldn't work, my vidoes wouldn't play and I was getting really upset. I followed the advice on here and removed my battery and rebooted. I am now back to normal. Get rid of Slacker!

I had the same problem and removing the battery resolved it. Just don't know what caused it and how often to expect the problem.

i have the same problem. my phone wont ring or vibrate tho. the caller name and number pops up . . . but i only know that if im looking directly at my damn phone. its so frustrating. my bf has the same phone and his works fine. iv only had my phone 3 days and it does this!!! i cant hear ringtones and it wont play a noise for the text message either... i hate this.
Sometimes my blackberry will alert me when i have a text. Other times I have to look at the phone itself to see if the light is flashing to let me know. Anyone know how to fix this? I also just got my phone 2 days ago and look at the problems
