SOURCE: Nailer only will fire one nail at a time and will

I found your post a couple times, when you remove the nails does the piston/driver slowly come down? Also do you hear any air leaking around the cap? When was the last time you had it serviced. It sounds like the o rings are dried out or worn flat and possibly a seal on top of the cylinder might be damaged. Not to worry though, it is rather inexpensive to repair all that yourself if you are handy with tools. Let me know and I will find a breakdown for you before you attempt anything

SOURCE: Stanley Bostitch Coil Framing nailer blows head off of nail?

Make sure that when you run with one gun that your psi is between 90-110. You may need a kit. Is it an RN45 or 46? Go to Stanley Bostitch online and look up parts and schematics. Kits should only be about 15-20 dollars, easy to put in, and come with instructions. Lemme know. Please rate me

How can I stop a RN46-1 from jamming

We often see jamming with stainless wire collation - the problem is almost never the gun, it is because the stainless wire is much harder to shear off than regular steel. I would suggest trying another brand of nail and see if that helps.
Also, yes, the trigger is all that is required to change it to sequential, it is a very easy swap.

Rn46 roofing nailer wont take the nails, the magazine will not close.

Look under the latch for debris or the check feeder pin is pushed up out of place not letting the latch close. Push the pin down into the retaining oring that fits into a slot below the check feeders. If the retainer oring is split, it will not hold the pin down.

Bostitch RN46-1 roof nailer won't advance nails into the piston chamber. After loading the nail coil, the first nail fires fine, but the next won't advance. Please help. Thanks!

check the height of the magazine, but I think that you have a problem with the feed piston or there is a spring on the feed pawl that might be broke. Unload the nails and dry fire the tool with the door open observing the piston movement. It should "SNAP" back and forth if it does unplug the air and check to see if the spring that applies pressure to the pawl is broken or missing. I am going to guess the piston. If this tool has not been serviced in a while the asphalt tends to jam up the mechanisms. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Bostitch RN46 will not fire nail, only releases air when trigger is held and firing tip is touched to surface of material. Any ideas on what is wrong?

Gun will not fire if air is leaking past orings in head /headvalve or safety /trigger is not pushing trigger pin all the way into trigger valve. Test: Remove trigger to expose trigger valve pin. Remove nails. Place nose of gun against thick rubber mat or coiled rubber hose to absorb blow of driver. Very quickly and deliberately press trigger pin all the way in. If gun fires, safety foo or trigger is not pushing trigger pin all the way in. Make adjustments or replace worn parts. If gun still does not fire, remove head and pull out headvalve. Apply lots of silicone paste lube on the orings and the surface of the head where orings make contact. Reinstall head and test as above. If the gun fires then orings were leaking. Replace orings and sand any scratches on body of cap with very fine sand paper. Parts are at www.toolpartsdirect.com Good luck

Bostitch Rn46-1 Nail feed keeps coming dislodged when firing gun

The feeder will dislodge if the feed paw spring is weak or missing. Replace with new spring to keep the feeder paw in place. Visual test with good feed spring. Remove nails and open side door. Fire gun rapidly against hard rubber or coiled air hose. The feeder should move back and fourth in time with the piston/driver. If the feeder seems to move in slow motion compared to the driver, check feeder piston orings and feeder piston spring. If both feeder piston orings and spring are in good condition, then check air passage to feeder piston chamber for obstruction. Sometimes debris will lodge in white oring where body mates to nose of gun. Good luck

New recon. wont fire this morning. Used it first time yesterday and it worked fine. Now, I can hear air when I press the tip onto shingles but no nail?

I would return it for an exchange, sounds like the firing valve is sticking or you might want to check for a jammed nail in the nose area. UNPLUG from air hose first.

I bought a rn 46 and the plunger is out blocking

neither one, could be a jammed nail or an o ring issue, check for the jammed nail first and if not let me know and I will try and help.

My bostitch rn46 seems to double or triple shoot nails frequently. Am I not using the tool properly or could there be a mechanical problem with the tool?

if u are right nails for gun, then make sure when u put coil in and feed in front of firing pin the nails are straight with pin and connecting wires are not bent causing nails to fall out of alingnment.
