Hello Iciapponi - From what you are describing it sounds like the switch that you are referring to is the motor latch assembly or thermal switch. Either or will need replacing in order the self clean mode function correctly. At this point, I highly recommend consulting a professional to accurately diagnosis the unit and to assist with the repair(s).

My Electrolux double oven has locked down with food in the oven. How can we get the door to release

My oven does that when the self-clean button has been pressed. Try pushing any sort of power-off buttons or pushing any buttons that are lit up in attempt to turn them off. Older ovens have a lever you have to slide to lock and unlock the oven door.

When in self clean mode latch will not lock latch has been replaced what do you think is causing this

If you replaced the entire lock assembly and it still does not work, the control board was originally at fault.
I assume there is no latching action when you call for self clean?
Double check you installation before you go buy a new control board.
Also check wire harness connection from new latch assembly to oven control board.

Electrolux oven will not heat

Hello Michael Anderson - From what you have described it sounds like the unit has faulty elements or could possibly be experiencing a wiring issue with the EOC. Try resetting the oven by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and if it proves to be ineffective contact a professional to move forward accurately to properly diagnose the unit.

How to unlock oven door on the EW30ES6CGS model

If holding down the cancel/reset button for 15 seconds does not work, turn the household circuit breaker off to that appliance for 10 minutes. If the unit does not unlock itself you have either a faulty door latch/switch or control board miscommunication - contact a professional at that point.

I cannot get my Electrolux self cleaning range to clean. It tells me to remove the racks, but I have. Any suggestions?

I finally figured it out! The rack supports actually come out also. Not just the sliding supports, but the whole metal part with all the supports on it. At first I thought they were bolted in, but I read somewhere that they come out, too. Upon further investigation, I found the rack supports just slide into the side walls at 4 points. I had to use a little force to pull them out, but they came out and my oven is self-cleaning as I write this. I just thought I would share in case you or others haven't figured it out yet. Now I will just have to see how hard it is to get them back in....
