I don"t know how long this tub sat before we purchased it used. We fill the tub, push the button and sometimes the pump just clicks but then sometimes it kicks on for anywhere from 1 second to about 10 seconds then kicks off. When it does run for a few seconds some black particles come out of jets. What could the issue be?

But we can't use the tubbecause the pump won't stay on. Like I said we bought it used and I would love to run a cleaning solution through it if I could get the pump to stay on. Do you think I need to disassemble the pump and clean that out first?
