Sunday afternoon we used a half of bin of ice. The water tray filled up automatically. An hour later we heard the click, click, click as if it was going to drop. Well it never did. The click continued for about 20 hours. We decided to "blow dry" the ice that was in the container, and it did drop into the hopper. Since then there is no water going to the ice machine. (and all is quiet) Thank you all in advance

Open up the ice maker flap and touch the tube that drips the water out...squeeze it to make sure it is not frozen. Or use a hair dryer to heat up this tube so it is no longer frozen.
This cheap fix has saved me lots of money on service.

What is sounds like is somehow either the water delievery system is clogged or frozen. If your getting water out of the door, then it is probably frozen. If you are able to turn off the freezer for a bit, that would be an easy way to see if that is the problem without having to deal with Whirlpool or a handyman.
