Philips dvp3055 combi dvd/vcr that has ared key on the front and will not allow me to unlock. Manual mislaid

I have all of your answers:
The easiest method, if you have the original remote control for that unit, is to press the "Child Lock" button that is toward the bottom of your remote.

If you don't have the original remote, the universal reset code is:
210499 - you may have to enter it twice
